Our guide was interesting, entertaining and knowledgeable. Great way to spend an hour or two in Wexford. I'd really recommend this tour!

“Worth a Visit”
Reviewed 28 August 2014

We had passed the gates of Loftus Hall many times & were intrigued as to the history of this magnificent house. When we visited the Hook Peninsula this year we were delighted to see that Loftus Hall was open to visitors. Our tour guide,(also the owner) Aidan, was excellent. A really interesting & mildly spooky tour ( i believe the more scary tour is on Saturday night, over 21's only). The house is being renovated in stages so don't expect a fabulously decorated mansion..though we liked to see so many original features. Check out the staircase, one of only 3 of it's kind in the world..Loftus Hall, The Vatican & The Titanic! Aidan told us that Loftus Hall will feature in a documentary/ghost hunting programme on The Travel Channel this September. A most enjoyable tour with excellent customer service from Aidan, Shane & staff. We will definitely return.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed 28 August 2014

I understand why Loftus Hall went with a theatrical style for the tour but to be honest I found our guide, Sarah, to be extremely annoying. Also, I would have preferred much more information about the house, its inhabitants, and the spooky goings-on. For example, why can't the roof be fixed? Who has tried to fix it? What happens when someone tries to fix it? Why did the nuns leave? Where did they go? What was the cause of death of those two nuns? How many bedrooms are there? Where did the servants sleep? How was the house heated? What's the plan for restoring the house, the timeline, funding, etc

I thought it was quite expensive. I'm sorry I didn't leave the visit for another few years when hopefully more rooms are included in the tour.

“Hooked on Loftus Hall”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

We have been visiting hookhead for about fifteen years now and passed Loftus Hall on so many occasions. last week we decided to call in take the tour. There was four of us, two adults and two kids. I expected a run of the mill guided tour however what we got was a hour of interaction, fun, shivers, ghosts, gouls and local history, we really enjoyed the visit. from the start the staff at Loftus Hall were friendly, welcoming and warm. The tour itself was an unforgettable interactive experience with a lot of fun and ghosts thrown in. The coffee shop is spacious and well stocked. I was a little put out by the 2 Euros car park expense until I realised that once you spend over 10 euros that is refunded. There is a music session now on Tuesday nights in the hall and although we missed last weeks session I am really looking forward to returning to experience it. Really do recommend this tour and congratulate the LH team on the work they have done so far in restoration, there is a lot more to do but I have a feeling that this is one to watch into the future, Well done all!!

“Loftus Hall”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

We were visiting Wexford and had never been to Hook Head or the general area before and we came across Loftus Hall. The two Euro entrance fee to the car park is a bit ridiculous as you are in the middle of the country, however it was refunded once you spend 10 euro plus. The fee for today for a family of 5 was 30 euro which is ok and the tour was an hour duration, Alan was a very good and dramatic tour guide. The history is certainly interesting and a bit chilling,it's a pity there was not more information on the nuns, the names of the ladies that died and the nature of their deaths and so on. The house would be absolutely amazing if refurbished and it is a shame we were only able to see a few of the rooms plus the entrance hall. The story of the main front door was also interesting, it's a shame there isn't more going on but again we got there on a very wet day so perhaps that was the reason. The restaurant was adequate and the staff were very pleasant. If you are in the area, would be worth a visit.
