“Keep this amazing hideaway a secret!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014

What an amazing few days relaxing away from it all. Couldn't have dreamed of anything more special. Our private toilet & shower were exceptionally clean and showering in the trees as the sun sets is amazing. The yurt inside is incredibly spacious and the bed very comfy. A large cool box is provided in your Yurt to keep your items at hand and you can collect two freezer packs from the freezer at the main kitchen. The main kitchen has literally every cooking utensil that you could need and there is an oven, hobs, toaster and kettles if you don't fancy too many bbqs. We also used the pizza oven which was a brilliant experience although it took us all evening to get it hot enough! Before we got there, we went to the local village shop but was disappointed by their fruit/veg selections so had to go to supermarket 15-20 mins away. There are supermarkets the same distance away both south and north so would recommended adding that trip into your drive on the way to the campsite. We loved: cuddling up beside the fire, toasting marshmallows, making coffee on Kelly kettle, drinking champagne under the stars, peace & quiet, beautiful woodland, making pizza, visiting River Cottage Canteen, showering in the trees. The only thing we don't like is that we have to wait until next year to go back. Attention to detail here is incredible. Thanks so much Guy. We can't wait to be back and will book woodwork courses next time

Room Tip: Any of the Yurts are incredible

Such an amazing place, perfect for relaxing and enjoying a bit of nature without the hard work of normal camping. The outdoor shower was particularly special! Would definitely return in future! Lovely supply of clipper teas, coffee and Dorset cereals, if milk were provided it would be perfect.

My husband and I booked a 3 night stay in Coracle (Yurt) and were not disappointed. The site is gorgeous, set in a tranquil forest area with everything you would possibly need for a glamping experience. In our opinion Coracle offers the most privacy on the entire site, but every tent or yurt has its own unique features. The accommodation was spotless, and extremely well appointed with a log burner and heated towel rail among the key features! We will be back next year having determined this is a perfect retreat. Thanks to Guy for setting this amazing camp up.

Absolutely amazing time here for two nights. Stayed in Poppet the yurt. Fantastic location, feels like your cut off from the world totally relaxing. The sauna at night when it's cold out Is a must try as is a shower in the morning rain, I've never experienced anything like it and it totally changed my mind about taking holidays in England. You don't even need good weather here. In fact it's better with the cold as you get to use your log fire in your tent. Top marks for the pizza oven as well even if we took two attempts to master it. And finally to the owner "Guy", very friendly man, very welcoming. Always smiling, seems the type of person who would go out of his way to make sure you had a great stay. Already planning our return

Just returned from 3 nights staying in Twybil the bell tent - it was a brilliant place of relaxation and birdsong. Inside Twybil is a kingsized bed, burning stove, heated towel rail and electric blanket - real luxury! Although there are other visitors staying in the woods it is totally private unless you choose to socialise in the open air kitchen or communal yurt. The hot open air shower is total bliss. Lots of see and do in the area, it is a fabulous place to get away from it all. We would highly recommend staying here but secretly would like to think of Twybil as our own personal, wonderful retreat!

Room Tip: Twybil is perfect

We stayed in Bodger the shepherds hut during the summer in 2013. It was brilliant in every way, cosy bed and woodburner to snuggle up to (although we stayed during the hot spell and didn't need any heat), a decked area with firepit/bbq and a hammock all surrounded by woodland. There are several yurts within the woods, but they are each approached by their own wooden walkway and are set in their own private area. We had a separate hut with our shower, sink and toilet and loved the fact that when in the shower you look up into the trees! A communal dining area is a great idea to save you having to bring all the utensils with you and a nice way to meet others staying on the site. We hope to be going back again soon!

I booked this weekend away after seeing it online and wanting to do something different for our anniversary. I was blown away by what an amazing weekend we had and definitely didn't want to go home. We stayed in the bell tent "Fipple" and it did not disappoint. The whole site is made for total relaxation. There are seven different yurts/bell tents (and a tipi) in the site and each tent is far away enough from the next tent to not even see anyone else if you don't want to. Inside our tent we had a king sized bed, towel heater, log burner (which heated the tent beautifully!), electric blankets (which were invaluable!) and obviously enough electricity sockets for anything else you need. It was exactly what we wanted and more. Everything you need is on site (charcoal, logs, cider etc) and you just pay for what you have taken at the end. The tree showers are so amazing! I have never experienced anything quite like it and I loved it. We even saw deer in the woods right by our tent! The communal kitchen has everything needed to make yourself whatever you desire. This really was one of the best weekends away I have ever experienced and I would definitely recommend anybody wanting a relaxing weekend away to stay here. You're also not too far away from the coast, we spent a good day exploring the Dorset coasts and seaside towns. The owner, Guy, is so personable and lovely, they really do just leave you to enjoy it all yourself. Definitely recommended and I do hope to stay again soon.

Room Tip: Fipple is the furthest tent into the woods and the furthest away from the shared (bell tent) toilets...
