As far as the room, it was nice and large. The bed was comfortable if not a bit hard, but the pillows entirely too hard. I was glad I brought my own from home. Forget the restaurants if you expect even minimum service. I don't know if they were all understaffed or that the staff was untrained and lost in their own worlds. We had one decent server, but that was it. We tried all three restaurants and it was the same. The buffet was OK, but some of the food was cold and tasteless. The plates were almost too hot to hold while you were serving yourself. Even in the nicer steakhouse, the food was good, but the service left a lot to be desired.
The casino was small for the size of the hotel and they had some rude and unfriendly dealers. There was one standout dealer named Danielle. She was great and made an otherwise bad experience into an enjoyable one.
All in all, we will not be returning to Sam's Town in Shreveport, LA.More
