Service was excellent! Most items on the menu were fairly spendy for a casual meal,so don't expect a bargain basement deal. However I ordered of the appetizer menu and loved the sesame chicken. You also get a stupendous side ceasar salad with every meal. The specials sounded great and if I come back to this area again I would definitely try the files (they also had a great selection of seafood, but I am not a seafood-lover). Staff was very professional and attentive. Would be a great date place, but be forewarned THEY ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS and ONLY SERVE LUNCH ON MONDAYS.

This has the appearance of a neighborhood restaurant but even neighborhood restaurants in the New Orleans area are a cut above. The food is carefully prepared and always fresh. We eat there about every two months and look forward to the visit.

The waterfront (a canal) view is the best thing I can recommend about Michael's. The food was barely adequate in quality, and WAY OVERPRICED. The turtle soup tasted like it came from a can. The fish had to be sent back the first time, as it was not fresh... very fishy smelling and tasting.
For the same type menu and much better prices, go to Nathan's or Palmettos.

You've just crossed the, very respectable, Hwy 11 bridge and although you're hungry, you pay your respects to the only bridge standing after Hurricane Katrina.

Where is this place, Michael's? And more importantly, Who is Michael? Suddenly off in the distance there appears on your right what appears to be a tiny little place which a huge parking lot filled with Mercedes, BMW's, Lexus' and any other auto you may or may not like.

If there is enough room to park, you get out of your VW very puzzled and walk to the little place, out of curiosity. As the door opens the HWY 11 bridge has brought you to a restaurant that is not tiny, nor little though extremely crowded where glasses are being raised to the sounds of clanking and "cheers" flow through the rooms.

Michael, if you're lucky, comes out and introduces himself. He's tall, dark haired and you wonder if there is another Colin Firth amongst us? With this said, Michaels has the best cuisine of any restaurant that I have ever been to and I have been to all of them. Commanders Palace; Crescant City Steakhouse; Emeralds; to name a few.

Therefore, Slidell surpasses New Orleans as having the best restaurant, Michaels.

I will tell you that should you happen to go there by boat/yacht, please motor slowly unless you wish to meet Michael standing on his dock waving and warning you to "slow down" , otherwise you will be too embarrassed to visit the restaurant for fear he may still remember you.
It took me a long time to muster up the courage to walk in and although he was extremely gracious , he remembered us well.

And lastly and "firstly" no matter what you order it will be three steps past wonderful. At Michaels you get what you pay for. Some think its pricey, others do not
CHEERS!
