We stopped over at the Green Dragon Inn on our way to a family celebration. The Inn is well signposted and the directions on the website were helpful and accurate. There is a large pub car park across the single track road, but guests staying in the accommodation can park in a courtyard behind the pub.

The pub itself is fantastic - full of charm and bedecked by huge flower baskets outside, with a lovely seating area with picnic benches.

The welcome we received was warm and efficient and after taking our overnight bags round to the separate accommodation block at the rear of the pub we were soon back in the Lower Bar enjoying the Real Ales on offer.

We had a delicious two course meal which was not only delicious but we felt great value for money too. The wine list too had a good selection at reasonable prices. Both bars are charming and full of character - and the Robert Thompson carved mice everywhere you look - even on the bar stools - are a delight

The rooms as stated previously are in a separate block and all named after racehorses - our room, Best Mate, was on the small side but perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. It was modern, nicely decorated with a great shower, incredibly comfy bed and pillows and was so peaceful - the perfect recipe for a good nights sleep. There were tea and coffee making facilities provided also.

After a great relaxing night we went back to the lower bar for breakfast. Service was great, choices were ample and nothing was too much trouble.

All in all highly recommended and a great base for exploring the Cotswolds.

Delightful hideaway, with pleasant, updated rooms in an annex behind the main building which houses a very atmospheric pub that serves great food. They sometimes hosts functions like wedding parties, which might be wise to avoid, but otherwise just fine.

We have stayed here several times in the past but haven't visited for 3-4 years. Decided to take a break from the M5 (particularly slow that day) for lunch. It appears to have changed hands since we last visited but the welcome, food and drink seemed as good as ever. The salmon Caesar salad and the Gloucester Old Spot sausages and mash were particularly good. Only downside was the undrinkable coffee - something seriously wrong with it - but our complaint was met with concern, profuse apologies and no charge, so fair enough. The 2 night DBB breaks were always good value and the St George suite is lovely for a special treat. Must find an excuse to return.

The Green Dragon was a real find. Great food, lovely bedroom suite, fantastic service; a real friendly place that has got it just right. The breakfast was superb ! We walked in the lanes locally and it was just a very peaceful and relaxing break from the usual weekly stress. Thank you to all.

Room Tip: The suite is lovely and spacious with a great bathroom.

We went here for a celebration dinner. We really could not fault it. The service was attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The food was nicely presented, generous portions and delicious. We were amazed how busy the place was, considering it is a Thursday evening. We now know why! We will return.
