“We didn't want to leave!!”
Reviewed 25 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

I booked Beggars Barn for my sister's hen weekend and I definitely chose the perfect house for this occasion! The house is absolutely stunning and tucked away in picturesque countryside with easy access to Oxford and Stratford Upon Avon.

The house is spotless and in great condition. The kitchen and garden areas provided a great space for socialising and we enjoyed using the swimming pool and trampoline!

We didn't want our time at the house to end but I hope to be able to stay at Beggars Barn again for another occasion in the future. Thank you to Camilla for helping me organise a wonderful weekend away.

Reviewed 5 June 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We were on a hen party and absolutely loved it! we had an amazing time! House is huge with all the facilities and amenities you could wish for! We had amazing weather for our weekend and it was like being abroad! Camilla was very helpful and informative. Would highly recommend this house for a large party booking, the photos really don't do it justice! Its amazing!

“Beautiful House made a great New Year”
Reviewed 7 January 2013 for a stay in December 2012

I didn't book but I stayed for NYE 2012 as part of a large group and had a great time. Altogether there were 15 of us and 1 baby. The house is absolutely stunning and you have everything you could possible need so you don't have to take much with you. It was perfect for our NYE as the sound system is rigged to play throughout the whole of downstairs. Beautifully furnished and very comfortable beds in gorgeous surroundings, plus my dream kitchen! Lots of mod cons and lovely features like the fire in the snug. We had to call the owners out twice due to a power cut but that was no problem. Camilla was so very helpful when she came on the second time and she even popped back later on in the day while we were out just to check everything was ok! Lovely pub a few minutes drive away called the George and Dragon where we had a delicious lunch on NYE. Well worth a visit and we would love to go back when it's warmer so we can use the pool :)

“An exceptional Holiday Home in a beautiful location...!”
Reviewed 27 December 2012 for a stay in November 2012

Having stayed in numerous holiday homes over the years with my large family, we are absolutely thrilled to have found Beggars Barn, which comfortably accommodated myself, 13 other adults and a couple of kids, over a long weekend in November.

The house is beautiful - extremely spacious and very stylishly presented... and it is clear that costs have not been spared in converting what is obviously an old house into a wonderful modern space. A huge kitchen and dining area, opening onto an open plan living area makes a perfect 'heart' of the house, however a separate formal living room and wonderful dining room with round table, create lots of options to enjoy!

We made use of the summer house which has two bedrooms, a bathroom and living space - it was ideal for us, but is a good few steps from the main house and past the swimming pool... so definitely worth keeping your eyes open if with kids... or after a glass or two of wine!

Camilla was a wonderful host - we understand that she and her family actually live in the house most of the year... but let it out at othe times - which certainly ensures that the house is homely and has everything that you could need within it. The pool is heated throughout the winter and we made use of it a couple of times - despite our visit being in November... it was a real treat!

Camilla was very helpful right from the outset - she was responsive and very helpful.... and although we were initially a little hesitant about the sizeable 'up front' damages deposit and the comprehensive list of 'dos and don'ts'... it soon became clear that Camilla's only interest is protecting her fabulous home... and who can blame her!

All in all a wonderful weekend away - we have recommended the house several times already and will certainly re-visit in the future. It is rare to find a house for such a large party, which ensures space, style and comfort... all of which we found in abundance at Beggars Barn.

“A wonderful place for a big get together with friends - so much space and a beautiful location and stunning house.”
Reviewed 18 October 2012 for a stay in October 2012

Beggars Barn was a wonderful place to stay - there were 10 adults and 8 small children but there was so much space so we never felt cramped and the open plan living area made it easy to keep an eye on the children.

The house and gardens are beautiful and the pool and trampoline kept the kids busy.

We were very well looked after by Camilla and absolutely loved our stay at Beggars Barn.

“Simply Stunning”
Reviewed 27 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

What can I say?! Our retreat to Beggars Barn was simply breathtaking, a secluded haven in the Oxfordshire countryside! Camilla was a most gracious host and ensured the little details were taken care of, and she and her husband were on call if we needed anything. Pool is HUGE and plenty of grounds where the children played. Every room of the property has been decorated to perfection, and my partner and I have never seen a Master Bedroom as luxurious as the one at Beggars Barn. Fit for royals, we stayed like royals! Wouldn't hesitate to return, Beggars Barn was a fabulous getaway for our family celebration.

“Beautiful home from home”
Reviewed 29 August 2012 for a stay in August 2012

There were 11 adults (ages 27-80) and 3 children (ages2-5) in our party. We decided to book Beggars Barn for a long weekend to celebrate a joint family 30th birthday. 10 of us slept in the main house and 4 slept in the Pool House. I slept in the contemporary master suite which was beautiful and had the most comfy queen sized bed not to mention a balcony that looked over the grounds.

From the point of booking Camilla (the owner) was very accomodating and made sure all our needs were met. Upon arrival we were shocked at just how breath taking this house is, Johnny (also the owner) greated us and showed us around the house and made sure we knew how everything worked. He also advised that we could help ourselves to anything in the kitchen cupboards e.g spices, oils, tea coffee etc., we didnt use them but I thought this was a nice touch. We were left with a speed dial number for him if we had any problems which was very reassuring.

All fixtures and fittings are too a very high standard (although bare this in mind for breakages). The property is also air conditioned. There was everything you could possibly need in this house including books, music, sky tv, wi-fi, and even a piano. It is worth noting that unless you are on T-mobile you will not get a mobile reception in this house (which actually can be a bit of a blessing) Outside there is a heated pool, gym (this wasnt used although we all enjoyed playing with the boxing equipment), sunken trampoline, bbq area and more open space then you could wish for!

We didnt leave the house all weekend as there really was no need but we did drive past some lovely pubs on the way if you did want to eat out!

If you do go with elderly guests or very young toddlers its worth mentioning there are alot of steps in the property and not many are carpeted. One of our guests were in their 80's and uses a stick but she coped ok but im not sure how comfortable I would have felt with a child who had only just learned to walk.

Overall I would recommend this property to anyone! It was great that as a family of 14 we were able to spend time together without crouding each other and we were actually all able to eat together at the same table for once. I will definitly look at returning to Beggars Barn in the future and have already recommended it to friends.
