“Wonderful Stay”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

Just got back from a 2 night stay in the Black Cow and I have to say, everything was perfect.
The staff were all friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were comfortable with nice furnishings and water, biscuits and toiletries all complimentary. (We stayed in Kerry)
We ate in the pub on Sat night and the food was top class, can recommend the pan fried king prawns ! Breakfast was equally good, with a good choice for the cooked breakfast.
The pub had a great atmosphere and is in a beautiful position in a very pretty hamlet.
we will definitely be making a return visit to explore more of this lovely area and sample more of this wonderful food.

Just went to the pub- but wish we stayed in the inn. Great people, great food, and great atmosphere. The pie was great and the rest of the family raved about the food. Great beer and drink selection as well.

Whilst on a business trip, I booked on-line and stayed here 5 nights in the Dexter Room, on a bed and breakfast basis, I had a single room with the usual facilities, including free wi-fi. The bathroom was clean and the room suited me. I did have a couple of spiders which the landlord kindly evicted for me. Breakfast was brilliant with a good variety to chose from, and if you are on a tight schedule you can pre-order so that it is ready for you in the morning. The staff were extremely friendly. There is a small adjoining car park which is free. Over all, for £45 a night it was a great place to stay.

Room Tip: If you book through an agent on-line you can see all the options available.

We stopped for one night after attending a wedding nearby. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. Should we be in the area we would go back even if it was just for dinner.

Arrived after a trip to Alton towers, tired and Looking forward to a nice evening. It's in a beautiful little village, slightly off the beaten track well priced and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Room lovely, clean and comfy bed that was not even affected by the beer festival and live music. beautiful food and restaurant and a steak that we could not fault! Will be back;) xxxx

We found this by chance, but what a find. We were already staying in the area at another location and decided to stay an extra night. After looking around we found this gem. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient, our evening meal was excellent and although the pub was hosting a weekend beer festival the noise was minimal. The room was slightly on the small size but was clean and well decorated.

Breakfast was excellent, having ordered our choices the evening before, it was well presented and very tasty. The manager Nigel and his staff run a very friendly pub. We have already decided to stay again.
