We had friends to stay and thought we would head to South Queensferry for Sunday Lunch. Sadly we had a very poor experience. We had a table booked for 6 at 2.30pm. We struggled to find a member of staff who could direct us to our table. We went to the bar and the greeting was cool to say the least. We were then told that for reserved tables we had to head to the far end of the building. We worked our way through the tables trying to make contact with a member of staff but we were ignored. Eventually someone was able to point us in the right direction. We had to order at the bar only to be told that 50% of what we had all selected was off the menu but had not been erased. We re chose and ordered sharing platters to start. This arrived reasonably quickly with all of our main courses. When we said this was a starter, the senior member of staff just said we had ordered everything at the same time at the bar. We were given no cutlery and our request for cutlery was ignored, in clear view of the staff we went and helped ourselves. However we did have to request serviettes. The only saving grace was the young waiter who then took over our table. He realised there was a problem and could not have been more helpful, He took out uneaten sharing platters away and removed them from our bill. It is a shame that the other members of the team were not as well trained as he was.
