This was a cool ride. We left from South Queensferry and headed out. We docked at the Abbey where we picked up a wedding party and a bagpiper. It was so cool to listen to the music while we sailed back. We saw seals on the buoy. Just being that close to that awesome bridge was enough - the rest was bonus. The commentary was very interesting as well.

Sailing from South Queensferry under the iconic Forth Railway Bridge was worth the cost on its own. The evening trip out past the priory seeing the seals and birds was fantastic. This trip is to be recommended (I don't even like boats as well and still thought it was brilliant).

A great way to see the Forth and the impressive Forth Rail Bridge. Comfortable boat and interesting and informative commentary. Explore the delightful Inchcolm Island or just gape at the scenery. Birds and seals everywhere you look. We will definately take this trip again as there is too much to see for just one trip.

I had a slight problem with online booking but the fantastically friendly and helpful Kirsten sorted it all out. Best customer service I have experienced in years!

This is a lovely little boat trip out to Inchcolm Island and back (and exploring the island is an absolute must!). We were unlucky to have booked on a day when it was rather wet, so not a great deal of visibility through the downstairs (enclosed seating) windows. On the way back it had stopped raining, but sadly the only wildlife we saw were a large number of gulls. I can only imagine how great this trip would be if we had had a nicer day, and seen seals or other bird species...

While by no means cheap (the only reason I did not give it 5 star rating), this boat trip is fantastic - especially if one takes the option of stopping at Inchcolm Island (at a very worthwhile supplementary cost).
The embarcation point is spectacular, with the very close up Forth Rail Bridge and views also of its sister road bridge, the small town and sea shore, as well as along the Firth.
Despite a squall as soon as we set off, which forced everyone inside, the boat trip was great - the weather cleared up quickly and when I asked the captain lent us a towel to dry the seats on deck. Of course, the mixed weather made for better photos in view of the clouds. The shore lines, views and other activity ensured that the time did not drag.
There is a sensibly modest amount of helpful and informative commentary and the island stop off is for 1½ hours (I'd have preferred 3 actually, in hindsight). The island, abbey and birdlife make for a fascinating experience [see separate review - under Inchcolm Abbey].
Rain on the return trip was not ideal, so I never took any photos right under the Bridge - but I had already done it more than justice! A warming coffee was adequate solace.
The boat staff were friendly and helpful.
