Spent a lovely afternoon in Queensferry decided to have something to eat in Orocco Pier. Food was average and overpriced service was awful to say the least. Really slow place was not overly busy so no excuse really. Had to asks for menus to be brought to table waited forever to have our order taken waited even longer for our drinks to come. Food was okay nothing special. When we had finished our meal we waited 15 mins after asking waiter for our bill got so fed up waiting we eventually just went to the bar to pay. Lovely views of the bridge average food service is awful by staff who seemed to be doing anything but serving people. Wouldn't go back!

Stayed here two nights for a wedding. It was exceptionally hot and I mean up to 30 degrees so the bedroom was absolutely boiling but that couldn't be helped. The staff in all areas of the hotel/bar/restaurant were more than efficient and friendly. Excellent food both at the wedding and at breakfast. Very stylish hotel in a beautiful little down where the main street is cobbled and very interesting from a historical view. Brilliant views of the two bridges which really set the scene.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back as the front probably suffers from noise of cars over the cobbles.

My wife and I got married here on 30th December 2012.
We searched many venues in Edinburgh to get married at however we were completely won over by the romantic setting of Orocco Pier and the friendly and attentive wedding planner and staff. We booked to have our wedding ceremony and meal in the downstairs venue which proved to be a great choice. If we had chosen to have our meal upstairs then we wouldn't have had the privacy we sought as although we would have had part of the restaurant sectioned off, other guests would have been in the vicinity. The view we had at the ceremony was truly amazing. Overlooking the Firth of Forth as well as the road and rail bridges which made it even more special. As the day progressed and the skylight dimmed, the romance increased. With the forth rail bridge lit up, the reflection of the gantry in the window, made the setting even more special. The food that we had was amazing. Pâté and leek and potato soup, braised daub of beef and strawberry shortcake stack. The beef was very tender and broke off with easy while the fresh strawberries on shortcake stack served to make a delicious end to a fantastic serving. The only fault I could have was that some guests were waiting a little longer than others to be served. The honeymoon suite we stayed in was lovely. Great views, bay window and comfy bed to fall asleep in after a long day. We were served a champagne breakfast with French bread, crispy bacon and syrup. Although it did look lovely, I must say I was a little tender to eat it!. Overall, a fantastically well planned and organised day by a great wedding planner (Laura I think was the girls name) which ensured an amazingly romantic wedding.

Room Tip: Ensure you have your ceremony and meal downstairs as it adds that extra bit of privacy and specialne...

Came here for food and a drink. There seem to be several different parts to this place which can be a wee bit confusing. This review is for the pub meals area, I guess you would call it. Not sure what the official name is. On the far left as you look at the building from the street. We didn't know there was a restaurant until we were leaving!

Generally this is pretty much exactly what you would expect from any reasonably modern pub that serves food in a city. Usual selection of international type food and slightly posh burgers.

Some particular plusses are a slightly wider range of food and drinks than usual, and the view over the bridges. The staff were friendly and attentive. Busy, and atmosphere was nice.

Disadvantages were that, after a wait, we were given seats that had no view of the bridges and although they were OK, we could have been anywhere really. To be fair this was because the place was busy, and the staff did check if this was alright. More importantly the food was slow coming, and wasn't that great. Partner couldn't finish her noodles which were average at best, and my veggie burger with cheese was OK but nothing more really.

I would come here for food + drink if I lived round the corner, but not worth the trip from Edinburgh.

Importantly it looks like there is a separate restaurant. This might be completely different.

Been here a couple of time now and never been disappointed, our visit recently was just after walking across the Forth Road Bridge, my partner and I stopped for a well earned drink and some food which was very filling, tasty and value for money, the steak and caramelised onion sandwich is highly recommended and the view is unbeatable with the Forth Road and Rail Bridges within touching distance , we shall be back soon.

Wow, we had such a great weekend at Orocco Pier. We were staying at the hotel for a wedding and were blown away by the location of the hotel and the fantastic views. We arrived at the hotel pretty early in the morning and the lady at reception very kindly let us check in early so that we could get ready for the wedding. Our room wasn't ready so they gave us a complimentary upgrade to one of the executive/deluxe rooms which was a very stylish room with fantastic views of the bridge.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the duration of our stay, even offering us a lift to the station when we weren't able to get a taxi in time, and also posting out a watch that I had accidently left in our room - above and beyond!

I would recommend Orrocco Pier to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend in a beautiful and romantic setting.

Room Tip: The executive rooms overlooking the bridge have fantastic views

Enjoyed Sunday lunch immensely. Table over looking the Forth and view to Bridges.
Didn't wait any time for a table despite the cafe being very busy-cafe is a bit Ida disservice- as the room is more Linda Restuarant but less formal.
Excellent soup of the day with a warm roll, haddock chips and salad all first class.
All staff very pleasant, all in all a great experience.
Def return again.
