Room was clean, staff was very helpful. Sunsets were very beautiful and it was quite nice to sit out in the evening. Easy access to all restaurants and other places that our wedding party was staying at. Restaurants nearby were all excellent. We had a very enjoyable time.

Very, very nice room. Our room was bright, clean, comfortable and had a good shower/tub. Our bed was not my own....but what motel or hotel matchs home? The pool was as clean as our room and very refreshing! The property is located almost in the center of Bailey Island so getting around is easy. Large nicely lighted parking lot so no climbing over other cars with your luggage. Beautiful walk to General Store that offers great breakfast and conversations with very pleasant local people. Located next door to the store are the Post Office and Giant Steps restaurant. We stayed here three nights and four nights at another location. Next years plans are to be here on Bailey Island for all of our nights.

Last room available in the mid coast area on a high season Saturday night! Very very clean, and Meghan was wonderful at check in. Beds very hard, decor cute if you like patio furniture indoors. Few amenities and a little pricey for what you get. But beggars can't be choosy. Besides, I love the area and if I couldn't find anything better, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again (I'd bring my own mattress pad though).

We were expecting the motel to have a view of the water. If you stand on a chair and are more than 6 feet tall, you'll be able to see a small slice of water. The motel is clean, a good value for the money just don't expect a view of the water. (You are within about a mile or so of the end of the penisula. Good views from Land's End parking lot.) Be careful when exiting the room, there is a space between the door and the small deck.

This was recommended heavily by the staff at cooks lobster restaurant over the other island motel. As they said, the place has been recently redone, ripping things back to the studs and putting in all new stuff. Very clean, very spaacious. It is a motel, and not a fancy one, but it is just fine. I would rather have a king bed than the queen in our room, but we can suvive a queen one night.

Stayed four nights here in September 2012 and found the motel to be perfect for our needs. Clean, quiet, well maintained, and friendly. Barry the manager was a very nice guy and very helpful. The mini-fridge and microwave in the room were wonderful for snacking on leftovers (when lobster is $4 a pound like when we were in mid-coast Maine, you’ll have a lot of leftovers!), the room was a nice size, the bed was comfortable, and the location was walking distance from a great little café (Giant Steps Café) and a fully stocked general store, as well as a slightly longer stroll to the fine Morse’s Cribstone Grill and the more touristy Cook’s Lobster House. The Cook’s Island View Motel isn’t fancy and to be honest, there isn’t much of a sea view (probably unnecessary given that you’ll have plenty of opportunities to look at water during your stay in mid-coast Maine), but it’s well equipped, very functional, and good value compared to other choices in the area. If you are looking for some sort of hyper-cute B&B with frilly furniture, this isn’t it, but you won’t be paying for those frills either.

We’ll definitely be back.

We found this place to be wonderfully comfortable and exceptionally CLEAN! The host, Barry, was a treasure trove of information about great places to eat (he recommended the Cribstone Bridge lobster shack- it was absolutely the most amazing lobster experience we've ever had!). He was also warm, friendly, and very hospitable. We will stay here again and again.

We sat on the Adirondack chairs on the porch and watched the sun set over the bay and then sat there the next morning and enjoyed our coffee while the sun came up.
