“A great place to stay in Bangor”
Reviewed 30 July 2012

This is a wonderful inn. It was our first time staying here and we will definitely be back. The beds were super comfie. The room was spacious and clean. Looked like they might have updated decor recently. The pool was clean but not very deep. The continental breakfast was very good and the kids really enjoyed making their own waffles. Overall this is a great hotel and I definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great, cheap place to stay while in Bangor.
*Also this is really close to the airport and the plane noise did not bother us at all.*

We booked this hotel because it was close to the venue we were attending.....big mistake...the walls were so thin we could hear the man next door cough.....the door did not shut tightly and there was light coming in all around it. Our room was 2 doors from the lobby desk....it didn't occur to the help that we might not want to wake up to them laughing and jokeing. My bed's mattress was soft and sank in the middle......loud music coming from the bar played until 11:30.....need I say more? I will never stay there again!

Having been to a few Days Inn locations, some being great and some being absolutely terrible, I decided that this Days Inn looked pretty good for a few days in Bangor to do some shopping. I'm very happy to say this is a great Days Inn location.

Altogether the service was great. The lady at the front desk, though she seemed very busy, was friendly and helpful. The front desk area was under construction but that was causing no trouble.
The room was spacious, clean and very modern. One bed was a few inches taller than the other one, but that didn't really matter. The only thing I didn't like was that the bathroom, (bath/shower and toilet room, as the sink was outside by the door), was very small and the ceiling was short, so when you took a hot shower, the little room would get so hot and stuffy that you could hardly breath. Also, the sink was really small.
I checked out the pool, but since there were quite a few kids staying and using it, it was kind of dirty. The water was also very cold even though it was supposed to be a heated pool.
The breakfast was quite good. There was a variety of items such as bagels, breads, English muffins, doughnuts, etc. They also had the Belgian waffles, coffees, milk, hot chocolate and juices. The lady in charge of the breakfast area was very nice and came in regularly to check in and make sure everything was well stocked.

Another thing I liked was that one of the vending machines held frozen foods that could be heated up in the microwave and frozen treats.
Also, a fitness room was coming soon, so that may be a good reason to come back to this hotel.

It was definately a great place to stay and I'd reccommended it to anyone.

I first stayed for 3 nites at the Days Inn on 250 Odlin Road in Bangor, Maine, in July of 2009 for a 3 nite Bingo Bus tour. I was very impressed and was happy to hear that Earl's Tour is still using the same hotel 3 years later.....Stayed there from July 13-16,2012,and was again very pleased with my 2nd stay, despite the fact that extensive renovations are going on in the lobby...They are expected to be done by end of July.....
This hotel is not in downtown Bangor, or out where the shopping is but is located near to the airport and they offer a free shuttle there....Next door to the hotel (same parking lot) is the excellent restaurant Ground Round (see my separate review on that), across the street a Subway and Tim Horton's, and beside the hotel (actually attached to the hotel ) is 7 theatres called Movie Magic.....On Tuesday's the price of admission is $1, on Sunday it is $2.50 and other days it is $3.50. Saw a movie there and found it very convenient. Also, My Fork Sports Lounge attached and an arcade for children.
An excellent continental brekkie is served from 5am-10am daily and you get bagels, muffins, toast, make your own waffles (awesome), juices, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and cereals.......all you would possibly want!
There is an indoor pool and vending machines where you can buy pop, snacks and the like, and an ice machine on bottom floor . Hotel is main floor and one up.My King Size bed room had a microwave and a mini fridge, and was just perfect.A very quiet hotel.
A taxi back from the Bangor Mall area (Christmas Tree Shop, to be exact) cost $13.35 before tip.
Overall, this hotel is great value, the staff are super friendly, and I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: I forgot to mention in my review that there is a computer with free internet use, so for this reason...

Have stayed here twice and will continue to go back and recommend! Second stay we got an upgraded room and was great traveling with 2 small kids, 2 teenagers and 2 adults. Rooms, bedding, bath and towels all very clean. Room service was great and very accomodating. Free continental breakfast is great. Kids love the pool. Overall great experiences during our stays, no noise in the halls or from other rooms, ac, tv, fridge, microwave, coffee pot worked great! Great rates also. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We've stayed here many times! It is our hotel of choice when we travel to Bangor usually twice a year. Good beds, good service, nice continental breakfast and close to shopping!

We stayed at the Days Inn for three nights and it was a very nice stay. The room was nicely decorated, the beds were sooo comfy and so were the pillows! Overall the hotel was quiet (planes do fly by, though, so you might want earplugs at night) and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great!! You could make your own waffles (very good!), there was bread, english muffins, bagels, cereal, yogourt, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, juice and hot chocolate (very yummy hot chocolate!). I would definitely stay again.
