I went with my sister and fiance and we enjoyed the campground. We stayed for 3 nights around July 4th, and while we had to deal with the strong remnants of a tropical storm, the experience was not so bad. The campsite we stayed at was very secluded and right next to a babbling brook. The campsite had a number of nice looking and helpful trees in the immediate vicinity (good for setting up tarps). The bathrooms were clean, they had wood for sale (although it was soggy), and hot water was abundant, although there is only one shower per sex. This campsite is on the Quietside, which we liked, but is not very close to many trailheads in Acadia National Park, but there are some beautiful trails/mountains on the west side of MDI.

Room Tip: Beware: mosquitoes like streams and water.

Great place, especially for those who like certain luxuries, like bathrooms, showers, recreation area, and coffee available at the office in the morning! We stayed in a camping cabin, which was perfect - each cabin comes with a fire pit and grill which we used happily and frequently. The camping cabins have electricity but no running water, bathroom - but the bathhouse area is close enough. The cabins are arranged so you feel secluded and aren't staring into your neighbors space but still close enough that you are aren't totally alone in the woods. Everyone seems respectful of the space, very clean and no rowdy guests. We will definitely be back!

Loved this campground! We were 9 people for three nights and stayed in sites 13,14,16, and 17 which were all set way back from the road and close enough to each other to be social but far enough apart to have space (site number 15 was closer to the road and separate from us but still nice). Nice large tent platforms, picnic tables, fire pits (old, beat up grill but still functional). About a 10 minute drive to SW harbor. Sites were very quiet and spread out. I didnt see any of the insides, but some of the cabins were very cute on the outside.

Only real complaint is that there are only two bath houses with one shower and two bathrooms per sex. Of the three days, two I had to wait for a shower and ocassionally had to wait for a toilet/sink too (sinks are inside toilet stalls, so you have to wait to brush your teeth).

Other than that it was great and I would definitely recommend

Room Tip: Bring bug spray!!!

The only downside to this campground is that it is a bit of a drive from the main park area. But it is "Quietside" so it isn't near all the people in the main park. And some of the best areas of the park: Wonderland, Echo Lake and the lighthouse, are close by.
The tents are on wooden platforms, but they let you nail things into the platform if you need to. The campsite is well wooded so even though the sites are close together, there is some privacy and a lot of shade.
The bathrooms are well maintained and include a shower.

Like like like. Came for a night, stayed for three.
Most of the island feel too populated for me. The alternative campground is Seawall campground that also have some private spots but no showers. In this one they also have cabins, which was a great option for our Rainy time on the island.
The place have a very special atmosphere. It's a matter of taste, but I literally checked 5 different campgrounds on the island before choosing this one.
The cabins don't have showers. Our had a little kitchen, fire pit, characole grill. I don't know if the owner or a previous tenant left in it a muscito repellant, fire lighter etc. it seems intended. if its the owner, shapo.
There is a little club.
