What a wonderful experience! The home is absolutely beautiful and our breakfast was fresh, homemade and delicious. The room was very clean and perfectly comfortable. But the very best part of the stay were Elizabeth and her staff. Lovely, lovely people. I highly recommend The Inn at Bath, Maine.

The Inn at Bath was the first of the seven inns or guesthouses that I stayed in during a meandering drive up the mid-coast of Maine from Portland to Bar Harbor. Elizabeth, the owner, is helpful and friendly and the house is wonderfully designed and maintained in that "Maine Inn" kind of way. I stayed in the large room at the front corner on the second floor and the light streamed through the windows with a cool breeze so that I looked forward to sitting there during late afternoon and early evening. Breakfast is delicious. Elizabeth helped me to plan the day in Bath and gave me useful "inside information" about the rest of my drive trip. It's not a long drive up from Portland so I don't know how many folks stay on the way up the coast but if you want to explore the Maritime Museum and the Bath Iron Works, this is the best place in town and I recommend it without reservations. [Some of the older reviews just seem "wrong" to me--the place was spotless and the staff friendly--I expect that there may have been a change in management or that some folks simply can't be pleased].

We stayed here with relatives for a class reunion and we really liked it. Our relatives checked in for us so all we had to do was show up. We were delighted to have the room with the Jacuzzi tub and took full advantage of it. Also it happened to be a very rainy summer night, so we slept with the windows open and loved hearing the rain falling near us - the Jacuzzi room is a bit below ground so we had fantastic audio of the rain. The Jacuzzi was very nice but it is elevated (probably for plumbing reasons) and could be hard to get in/out of for an older person. Also you have to be careful when standing up in the Jacuzzi not to hit your head on the ceiling - but those were not negative for us. The decor and atmosphere of the house is very good. It really captures a modern and 19th century feel. I would definitely return.

We stayed at the Inn at Bath during our 2-week motorcycle tour of NE/Canada. It proved to be a great stop-over for 1 night as we made our way northward. The Inn at Bath excels on hospitality and provides a superb fit-focused, cooked-to-order breakfast. We loved the 2-room suite that we booked, which was perfect for a family traveling together. Its white décor was perfect for a historic inn on the Maine seacoast; I was particularly fond of the large windows providing vast views of the tree-lined street below.

While visiting Bath, be sure to take a walk about town to explore the local shops and perhaps even a riverfront dinner at the Kennebec Tavern; check out the lobster salad if you opt for this venue – it is quintessentially Maine.

The Inn at Bath is an excellent experience. Beautiful old building that has been very well maintained and updated. Elizabeth, the innkeeper is a real breath of fresh air. Lots of energy and efficiency but not too much in your presence. Likewise the interiors are free of the dreaded B&B knick knacks. A really pleasant place, nicely run, with an excellent American Breakfast of bacon and eggs---REALLY good eggs. And you can schedule when you want breakfast.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Garden Room, which is handicapped accessible. You might be concerned, that since i...

We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before and sadly Elizabeth and the Inn at Bath have ruined it for all the other bed and breakfasts' out there. From the moment we walk in until we left we felt right at home. The house is beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable. The fo'c'sle and captains cabin are the best rooms in the house with a large jacuzzi tub overlooking a wood burning fireplace (which by itself is an incredibly relaxing amenity). Breakfast is delicious. We still use Elizabeth's homemade granola recipe at our own house and thoroughly enjoy it. The only reason we come to Bath is to stay at this house. After 2 stays under our belt (with definitely more to come) I would highly recommend a visit to this house.

The Inn at Bath is everything you could want in a B&B. We stayed during February, and had a great time. Elizabeth is warm and runs this inn beautifully. Our room was clean and spacious, we loved the jacuzzi and fireplace. We were offered tea, and welcomed into the sitting room with a toasty fireplace shortly after checking in. Our breakfast the next morning was just delicious. Elizabeth pays attention to the details--a cup warmer to keep coffee cups hot, plenty of juice and water, and a variety of teas for non-coffee drinkers. The breakfast entrees on our mornings were exceptional--special requests were accommodated with no hassle at all. The Inn at Bath is great all around. We'll be back for sure.
