“Amazing B&B”
Reviewed 6 August 2012

We stay at B&Bs whenever we travel, and the Jeweled Turret Inn is at the top of our list to return to. The innkeepers are the best - very attentive and friendly. The inn itself has an interesting history, is in top condition, and is nicely appointed. The location couldn't be better; right in town and close to the waterfront. This is one place we hated to leave. We will certainly return again the next time we are in Maine.

We enjoyed our 31st anniversary here and were delighted with the accommodations. There is a lot of attention paid to detail with antiques and pictures galore spread all over the house. The entire house was a clean as could be which is a definite challenge with all items to be tended to. The owners were charming and cared a great deal about the home, beginning with the collection of the antiques even before they had purchased the inn (Ask them about it! And then ask them about the history of the building!).

Belfast itself is a pleasant fishing village with some interesting restaurants and there is an active shipbuilding yard.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Topaz room which is in a turret (even the windows are rounded in the turret). There...

We enjoyed one night at the Jeweled Turret Inn. Our favorite part of our stay was the wonderful location for walking around the charming city and down to the water. Our room was spotless with a massive bathroom and a very comfy bed. The room itself was perfectly decorated while the inn itself was much more "busy". The only negatives was for breakfast, it was a beautiful morning so we requested to sit outside as one other couple was doing and were told we couldn't because they wanted the porch to themselves. There are several wonderful little tables out there and we thought that wasn't right. We sat inside by ourselves at a large table and felt uncomfortable in this big room when what we really wanted (and should have been able to do) was sit outside on a beautiful morning. That little glitch did take away a little from us feeling like true guests as the other guests who were able to for some reason take up the entire large porch must have felt. The breakfast was beautiful and tasty however.

My husband and I recently stayed at The Jeweled Turret Inn in Belfast. Cathy is an outstanding hostess. Breakfast was delicious, afternoon sherry and cheese and crackers a wonderful surprise. The Victorian Inn is lovely. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our only regret is that we had only booked one night.

My husband and I have stayed at many B&B's across the country. We enjoyed our recent stay in Belfast at The Jeweled Turret Inn with Carl and Cathy. We really liked the sherry in the beautiful antique glasses and cheese & crackers on the pretty veranda with the beautiful flowers. Many quality antiques and so many smalls that it seemed like staying in a museum. We stayed in the Opal Room and I was impressed with the quality of the Kohler jacuzzi tub and other bathroom fixtures. The entire inn was extremely clean which would be difficult with all the many antiques and beautiful paintings all over the house. Many added touches throughout the house that made you feel at home. Breakfast was served on pretty china and was very good. Hope to return and take the great Belfast walking tour again!

We enjoyed our stay here. Very old victorian style house. Our room was a tad strange because the bathroom in it was only behind a wrap around curtain (no actual door or walls). But the room itself was big with plenty of light. The owners are also very nice. Belfast itself is a decent little tourist town - still a little ways to go, but you can always head down to Camden if you want something a little bigger and nicer.

It is stated clearly in the room details that the bathroom is in the room and if this is not for you then choose another room in this high quality establishment and the breakfasts are the best I have ever had, either in a small B & B or high end hotel.
