Stayed one night in September. Convenient location close to several good restaurants. Room was clean and well appointed. Loved the view, and it was reasonably priced. We look forward to staying there again.

My wife and I were headed up the coast to do some camping and wanted a one night stop over to ease the driving time. We found Colonial Gables here on TA and booked after reading the great reviews. We completely agree with many of the good things written by other travellers. Our stay was short but we found that:
1) Our cottage was clean and warm with nice amenities and a great view
2) The location is fantastic - a couple of minutes into Belfast which is a GREAT little city. If you don't want to go into Belfast, there are plenty of other restaurants/shops right around the hotel itself.
3) The ladies at the desk are super friendly and helpful
4) You've got a great stretch of beach right at your doorstep
You can see by the prices that it's a great value as well. We're campers at heart but have it on our list next time we're heading up the coastline - and next time for a longer stay!

My husband and I spent a week here in one of the cottages. This was our second year and we plan on returning again. Spectacular views of the Penobscot Bay. Private beach is awesome and very secluded. A place to forget about life for awhile. We give it 5 stars.

I was in the hotel room 31. There wasn't a lot of room but it worked for me. Room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Every room was a deck to sit on. The only draw back is the railing blocks the view of the bay. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I would defiantly stay here again.

Very welcoming staff. Mary is great, she helped us find many things in the area. Our cottage was great. Very clean. Fantastic view. We were in cabin 33. Appears to be newly remodeled. All new appliances in kitchen. So close to the ocean when you opened the windows or sat an the deck you could smell the ocean. 2nd row up from beach. Area's to sit, enjoy a bonfire, walk on the beach, watch the boats cruise by.

I highly recommend a stay in one of the cottages. They are quaint and private. I had one just feet from the ocean and it was such a great relaxing stay. The ladies in the office were extremely nice and accomodating. There was a bonfire nightly which was an added bonus.

Each cottage has a great view of the bay. We stayed in cottage # 3 and enjoyed the large deck, full kitchen including a large fridge/freezer, microwave, oven/stove, coffee maker. The cottage was clean and the office staff were very friendly.
Also, if you stay in Belfast I highly recommend Young's Lobster Pound. It's only a mile from Colonial Gables and the lobster & steamers were excellent.

Room Tip: Some cottages are dog friendly
