“Excellent value for the price”
Reviewed 20 February 2013

We stayed in one of the largest rooms (bunk bed and two queens), four of us. The room was comfortable and spacious enough; clean. Decent wifi service. Very close to Bethel center, and close to Sunday River. Breakfast is not included, and a bit pricey ($8 per person); for a similar price, you can drive 300 yards to the Crossroads diner, which is an excellent place for breakfast.

Thanks Rostokko for staying with us and enjoying your stay. We wished you had come in to try our breakfast, as we think it really is the best deal in town. For $8 you get coffee, tea or cocoa, juice, your main entree (eggs with toast, raisin or white French toast, or plain, blueberry or chocolate chip pancakes), &bacon or sausage. Tax is also included. Maybe next time!

The Inn is a great place to stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the service is good, and breakfast is fantastic. Plus The Inn is close to Sunday River ski area and downtown Bethel, and rooms rates are reasonable.

A few friends and I went to Sunday River Ski Resort for a weekend trip. We decided to stay at the Inn at the Rostay because is was just minutes from the resort. When we arrived Friday evening we were greeted by a nice lady at the front desk. She was very friendly and gave us information as to what attractions were in the area, stores, restaurants, etc. The room we were in was well kept and just the right size for 2-3 people.

A few side notes:
-The heat in the room worked very well.
- The wifi was reasonably fast compared to other hotels/motels/Inns we have stayed at.
- They offer a breakfast in the morning that is $8 and is cooked to order. Not a buffet/sitting under heat lamp type of breakfast like at other hotels. The food was very good.
- There is a shuttle bus that will pick you up from the hotel and bring you to/from the mountain.

I will be staying here again the next time we go. It is worth the price and is very close to the resort.

Stayed at Rostay last night - which just happened to be a VERY cold one in western Maine (-31 F was reported on the news). The room was warm, the hosts were very kind and helpful and the breakfast was great. The biggest plus for me was that they welcomed my dog (a great dane) without batting an eye.
Small detraction was the proximity to the main road - so the lumber trucks that roar by are a bit nosy - but they stop after about 8pm, so not really that much of an issue!

Thanks for the wonderful review! It was great to have you and your great dane stay with us for the night. On such frigid evenings, we love having the company. The noise usually isn't so loud along the road, so we think the weather heightened the volume of traffic.

Next time you're passing through Maine we hope you visit us again!

As a traveling nurse, housing is always a concern and Bethel Maine is no different and yet more challenging as it is a charming mountain village and not a large metropolis. My recruiter and I looked high and low for furnished housing and came upon the deluxe efficiency at the R.O.Stay. My other obstacle to overcome is that I have two beautiful dogs (everyone who meets them tells me so). I was in need of petfriendly housing. Fortunately Kathy and Al were able to accomodate the three of us and the deluxe efficiency afforded me to have family come up and visit during my 3-4month stay. I also stayed in the deluxe inntel rooms and they are roomy and accomodating as well. Leaf peeping is amazing and though Hurricane Sandy may have blown a branch or two off of the trees, my four-legged friends and I remained safe and sound. Yes, there are bugs (black flies, japanese beetles, and lady bugs) but nothing that the vaccuum cleaner can't handle LOL! The dogs love Kathy and the housekeeping staff and would have loved to have met Rutger, if he had not already crossed over the rainbow bridge. I love that I have friends and family to visit in Maine. Thanks again Kathy and Alan for allowing me to experience Maine in an unforgetful way.

Lovely place. The appartment at the second floor is great for family with kids. It was fun to watch video movies again, and they have a great movies selection. The best breakfast ever had in hotel in the US. Don't miss the quilt shop!!!!

Wife and I stopped in without reservations, had one room left. We checked in, turns out owners have a home in same community as ours in Florida. Great home made breakfast in morning, and very good acommodations on such short notice. Al recommended a great place for dinner right down the street. Very enjoyable stay, wish we could have stayed longer.
