The expansive gardens offer a huge variety of plant life to enjoy. Meandering trails allow for changing vistas and photo opportunities to numerous to count. Go down by the lake or over to the childrens garden and enjoy the many surprises. From meditation areas to sculpture and stonework, there is much to enjoy at this special place.

Wow this place is amazing. I have been there in early spring and late summer. There is always an incredible variety of flowers and the setting is beautiful. Even if you are staying in southern Maine its worth the drive.

Excellent. Imagine it would be even better in spring but plenty to see in late fall. Trails are easy, 2 mile loop, meandered and stopped a bit to read the informative signs and see the flora and fauna. There was a strong and wonderful scent of pine throughout which was heavenly. We tracked a crowing rooster to the children's garden, which also had frogs and tadpoles in the pond and all kinds of vegetables in the garden including the largest and most colorful Swiss chard I've ever seen. Highly recommend!

We spent the weekend in Boothbay Harbor specifically so we could have a Fall visit to Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and it exceeded our already high expectations. This garden is a jewel in Maine's crown--absolutely beautiful. The garden is very large with both spectacular central gardens area and extensive walking paths along the river and throught the woods. We loved all of the pumpkins and Fall decor, and even though we are both in our 60s, the wonderful Children's Garden was one of our favorite areas. I have visited Coastal Maine Botanical Garden during the summer before when it was quite crowded--but on this perfect Fall day, there were very few people there. Be sure to end your visit in the garden Gift Shop--wonderful treasures!!
