Everyone has given wonderful reviews of this amazing place. We agree with the reviewers' comments and enjoyed spending the day just wandering throughout the gardens. What impressed us so much was learning about the dedicated, insightful people who started the Botanical Gardens in the 90s. It is difficult to believe that in order to raise the money for the purchase of the initial acres of land, many people in this original group mortgaged their homes. How rewarding it must be for them to see their dream come true. Congratulations to them and to all of the other people involved in this beautiful site. We've been to many other botanical gardens, and truly believe that years from now this garden will rival Butchard Gardens in Victoria.

'We took our almost 2 year old daughter here and had a wonderful day. The Children's Garden is amazing and to see all the flowers in bloom and the breath taking views is something every one should experience. This attraction is somewhere that you need to remember the camera but it will do the views no justice.

I'm a New York Botanical Gardens certified landscape designer of 20 years and a licensed CT Arborist. I'm addicted to the great outdoors and all it has to offer. CMBG is a gem and worth the effort to visit. The overall design is creative and user friendly, not overwhelming but interesting.
Plant material and placement is great with informative plant signage. Exhibits change with the seasons, never boring always fun.
The food and service is good and they offer both in and outside dinning.
I travel to Downeast Maine often, I go out of my way to visit the gardens at least once a year, I need my fix. Stopping adds an additional 3 hours to my already 8 hour drive. Worth it!
Oops, it's great for kids.

My wife (who is a master gardener) and I have visited numerous Botanical Gardens across the US and this is one of the top 5. A must see for anyone who enjoys the beauty of gardening. The trails are easy to navigate and around each curve another beautiful scene awaits you. We were here in the fall when most plants were past there prime it was still great. The children's garden is not just for kids. The fall themes of pumpkins, native grasses and mums are very well done. All aspects of the garden were done with a sense of purpose and was a delight to visit.
