We don't even know where to start in saying how much we enjoyed our stay at your inn! We were impressed with the room cleanliness and amenities. The room equipment is all well-maintained, everywhere; the TV, AC unit, bathroom heater, fridge, shower fixtures, etc. etc. No chipped paint or stained ceilings. Comfortable beds. Very helpful staff in the office. Great Continental breakfast! Visitor computer and printer. We'll be back as soon as we can!

We stayed at Brown's Wharf Inn over Memorial Day weekend, checking in on Friday and departing on Monday. Check in went very smoothly, I had asked for a room on the third floor overlooking the bay and this request was accommodated. At check in we inquired about a restaurant recommendation. We were told that Andrew's Harborside Restaurant was the first pick in Boothbay Harbor. We asked about other restaurants as we wanted to experience truly fresh lobster. A couple of other restaurants were mentioned but not recommended, obviously the lady checking us in was unenthusiastic about any restaurant but Andrew's. This hotel even has the menu from Andrew's available for guest review. Besides the employees having a menu, there are menus available for guests' review on a table on the way into breakfast. Sound suspicious yet? So we tried Andrew's. What a disappointment. Every place we ate in Boothbay over the next few days was better, in fact much better. The restaurant will be reviewed separately.
Back to the hotel. The staff was wonderful, well except for the restaurant recommendation. The room did overlook the bay and had a balcony with chairs so the view could be enjoyed. Very scenic.
We were very disappointed that the restaurant located within the hotel was not opening until a week or two AFTER Memorial Day weekend. This was not mentioned on the website nor during the reservation process. It appeared that the rest of the businesses in town were open for the season, in fact many were open as of Memorial Day weekend, just not this restaurant. We specifically stay at hotels that have a restaurant/bar on the premises or within walking distance so we can have a drink before turning in for the evening. This was not possible at this establishment since the restaurant was still closed.
The room was very comfortable. The bathroom is oddly configured with the tub and toilet in a room and the sink outside. I tend to be an early riser, very difficult to get ready in the morning without disturbing my significant other.
What is the connection to Andrew's Harborside Restaurant??? It is listed as #33 of 45 restaurants in Boothbay Harbor rated on this site.
All in all a nice enough place to stay but we will try someplace else on our next visit to Boothbay Harbor.

Being told this was the best place in town by a few folks, we reserved ahead 1 day (unusual for us as we usually just find someplace each night). Since their policy does not allow refunds within 3 days SIGH we stayed the night in spite of some serious misgivings. Their well reviewed restaurant was not yet open and it was not yet high season, but they charged us the highest quoted rate anyway. The wide bay view is wonderful if you pay 50% more for the room (we did) and that alone redeemed this visit. These is a lightly constructed bayside motel intended to let you sleep near the water but spend most of your time in the very nice touristy town across the bay. If that is what you expect, well, you wont be dissapointed. The walls are thin and we heard every child's whimpering cry next door and every toilet flush. The room was also vaguely moldy (what do you expect so close to the water?) and I woke up with slight asthma from breathing it all night. The bathroom is a postage stamp and barely serviceable. The carpet is some kind of industrial indoor outdoor stuff.....but it is all clean. After writing this, I went back and lowered my marks. This may be the best in town, but I highly doubt that now...keep looking.

Room Tip: Rooms facing across the bay are 50% more...but the view is fine. The other wing faces the mud flats with no real view...but if you just want to sleep, choose the 'inland' side rooms.

What a wonderful place to stay! Everyone is extremely pleasant. The room is very nice, clean as can be, two comfortable chairs, amazing views. It is a short walk to the footbridge into town. Breakfast was described as "continental" which made me think cereal, maybe bagel. No way! Waffles, about six different choices of juice (not the machine dispenser kind either!), sliced melons, quite an assortment of breads and muffins (made onsite), oatmeal, etc. Highly recommend staying in this charming harbor resort.

With a lovely view of the harbor, the decently appointed room was comfy and spotlessly clean (no mouldy/musty smell like some sea-side hotels have). Continental breakfast included hardboiled eggs and oat bread and coffee breads made fresh by the cook (very tasty)....no meat or hot eggs though. The staff was friendly and the whole stay was very pleasant. The bed was too soft and a bit lumpy, the only thing we didn't like about our stay. No comment on the main restaurant, since it was closed (off-season).

Room Tip: Top / 3rd floor rooms have the best elevation for a nice harbor view, and are quiet.
