My husband and I just returned from a 2 night stay at this quaint and lovely little escape! Phil and Maria are the absolute best! The attention to detail is remarkable! Everything from homemade breads/cookies left out in the common room to sweet, comfortable and well thought out placement of furniture in our room! The ac/heat/fan system is well thought out, the bed was extremely comfortable and the view was picturesque! We absolutely LOVED staying there and will return God willing! I might also add, we are usually not "B&B people" but this experience left us with a desire to return to this little e slice of heaven! Thank You Phil & Maria for a lovely memory!!!!!

Room Tip: we had the only room available...1st floor. Advantage was it was the 1st floor....disadvantage was had to keep the shades drawn.....but for the amount of time we were in the room, it really was NOT an issue.

Great location, most things in town are within easy walking distance. The owners are friendly, welcoming and informative. The place is immaculate and well maintained. Our room was very large and comfortable (#4) with a covered porch overlooking the end of the bay . Very tasty breakfasts. Private parking in the back. We even saw several blue herons from our porch.

Room Tip: there are no elevators

This was the 4th stop on our Coast of Maine vacation. I was a bit leery in regards to Boothbay seemed like a tourist trap town to me. I must say I was pleasantly surprised not only by Boothbay but the wonderful experience we had at Blue Heron Inn.

We were greeted by Phil upon our arrival a wonderful man to say the least. He gave us a tour of the Inn and gave us advice on dinner and places to visit during our stay. Rooms all appear to have been recently redone. All had very modern amenities including new A/C units that were very quiet and did a nice job of cooling the room. Not sure how other rooms are but the bathroom was a bit small and only had a shower stall no tub.

Our room was on the third floor and had a wonderful balcony over looking the harbor and walking bridge. Nicely arranged with a little iron table and chairs and a love seat. Very enjoyable place to enjoy morning coffee or after dinner drink. There were steps to our room inside the house as well as on the back yard patios.

Inside the inn, Phil and his wife have done a wonderful job with the decorations all from their trips to England and Japan.

Breakfast was very well done by Maria the housekeeper. The blue-berry french toast which I see others are raving about is a good as it comes. The afternoon cookies were fresh and wonderful.

The Inn is right on the edge of town so you miss some of the hustle and bustle that comes with Boothbay but it is close enough that a less than 5 minute walk has you in town.

I definitely recommend Blue Heron Inn nice stop on our coastal Maine getaway.

Room Tip: I recommend the 3rd floor it is quite a haul with your bags but the view is wonderful.

We are happy to know you had a wonderful experience at Blue Heron Seaside Inn, and you enjoyed our quaint fishing/boating village Boothbay Harbor.
While all our rooms have the same modern amenities & waterfront decks, they are unique in decor, floor location, and bathroom size and style.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Your comments may be helpful to future travelers in selecting the best room for their needs.
Happy travels and come back soon!

This is our second visit to the Blue Heron Seaside Inn and everything from the wonderful hospitality of the owners (Phil / Laura), the fantastic rooms, the great coffee and Maria's superb breakfast along with those afternoon cookies. Every morning from our deck the blue heron could be seen in the harbor.
This is not the last visit...

My wife and I had not been to Boothbay Harbor in over 20 years, and I wanted to find a special place for a relaxing 3-night anniversary visit. After an online search and reading many reviews, I settled on Blue Heron and the Harbor Lights room. I wanted to be 'in town', wanted a harbor view from our room, and wanted air conditioning, in case the weather got warm. It was a great decision! The room was beautiful, well-equipped, modern, and very comfortable. The mini-split air conditioning (which turned out to be greatly appreciated with a hot spell arriving with us!) was whisper quiet. The porch outside our room with loveseat, chairs, and table made for a relaxing place to have a glass of champagne and take in the view of the harbor. Laura and Phil were very welcoming, and Phil provided many great suggestions for things to do and places to eat. Maria's breakfasts each morning were delicious, hearty, and beautifully presented. We both greatly enjoyed our stay!
