The Inn was right on the water as promissed. Right in the middle of T-shirt shops and tourists. The room was old, poorly maintained with no phone, no alarm clock and a stuffed up tub. The complimentary breakfast was so bad we passed completely. The staff however was great. Nice, informative and as accomidating as they could be.

We made a last-minute reservation during the Labor Day weekend and were able to get a pet-friendly room with a patio on the pier overlooking the water. The room was starting to show some age, but was very large and clean. It was perfect for us! The hotel staff procured a refrigerator for us and were accomodating in every way. The free breakfast was good and included bacon and scrambled eggs. An added bonus was a free 1 1/2 hour Harbor Tour by boat. Overall, for the money it was an excellent value.

Fisherman's Wharf is a Great value but be careful of the room you choose. The rooms over the water that are facing north (aka facing inland) unfortunately are across from an extremely loud and noisy nightclub. Besides being extremely loud the DJ's play annoying music too, older glam rock and current teeny bopper hip hop crap. The nightclub is called Grey's Wharf. It's your basic pick-up joint that caters to the twenty-something year old crowd. I'm a musician in a rock band and this place was over the top when it came to the musics volume. Totally unnecessary.

Room Tip: Get rooms facing south (the bay side). More expensive but you'll avoid the noise coming from Gre...

Location, location, location! The inn is right on the pier with amazing views of Boothbay Harbor. Shops, restaurants, and numerous boat excursions are steps away. Very convenient! All staff members were friendly and very accomodating to our needs. Service with a smile is rare these days, but not at The Fisherman's Wharf Inn!

We were planning on leaving the harbor to head home after camping on Southport for 4 days... until we noticed a sandwich board outside the Fisherman's Wharf Inn. It read "$99 with complimentry breakfast and boat ride." The very nice valet man parked our car and offered to carry our bags to our room. The front desk clerk was very pleasent and checked us in promptly. We loved our room (clean and comfortable with a great view from a semi-private balcony!) so much that we returned to the front desk to inquire about a second night! The friendly clerk granted our request at the same special rate! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the breakfast was abundant and delicious in a beautiful dining room with a fabulous view of the harbor, the free valet parking is a great plus as where parking in Boothbay can be difficult on the streets and the 1 1/2 hour boat tour of the harbor was the perfect ending to our week-long vacation! I would highly recommend the Fisherman's Inn! I would say the only con was that the bed was extremely firm... a little hard.

Although the entire staff was very professional and nice - we HAD to leave. We checked in and the moment the porter opened the door and we walked in I could smell it. We don't know what the IT was, but it was gross. The room we had was actually over the ocean, so we gave it time. We went walking, bought some candles, had a few drinks. Went back to the room and lit 4 candles, waited 1 longggggg hour in the room waiting for the smell to go away. Gave up and changed - went to dinner. Came back it still smelled. We stayed in our street clothes and just laid on top of bed and tried to watch TV. But it was so low on the table our necks were getting pain just trying. There was one cushioned chair but we could not sit in it as we didn't know what was maybe on it or- when it was last cleaned. So after a 1/2 of laying on the comforter (never dared to pull it back to reveal the sheets underneath) my husband started to ich. We had never unpacked, so we were out of there in less than 5 minutes, heading home. HOME SWEET HOME

Room Tip: Don't go here

We are very sorry that your experience with your room was less than adequate. I have issued a full refund for the night's stay, and it is my sincere hope that you return to see us again. As a hotel, we do our best to meet and beat the expectations of our guests; when a guest does not enjoy their time with us, we are not doing our job to the best of our abilities. For all of our guests, I would ask that, should you check in, and find that your room less than satisfactory, please communicate with us at the desk, and we will do our level best to satisfy your needs. Should we not have a room that meets your standards, we will again do our best to find accommodations that suit your needs. We appreciate your feedback and your patronage, and hope that should your travels bring you this way again, that you will give us a chance to do better.

My husband and I stayed at the Fisherman's Wharf Inn from a Wednesday through a Friday night. We were assisted to our room by one of the car valets, who also brought us the portable refrigerator we requested. We were taken aback that for the price we paid, the room was quite mediocre. It was clean enough, but very rundown. We could have used another comfortable chair and a small table to sit at. There was one dresser, a small table that the portable TV was on, and 2 nightstands. We did have a balcony to sit and view the harbor from. Because we were on the 2nd floor, much of the view was blocked by the boats in the harbor but it was still nice to look out at what we could see. The bed was a King, and the mattress was very, very firm! There was no microwave, and no coffeepot.

On the plus side, we enjoyed a good hot buffet breakfast every morning... the food was good, and the coffee was great!! Water pressure/temp in the shower was fabulous. Staff were very friendly. We also received a discount on our Whale Watch, and a 10% discount for dinner at their restaurant. Factoring that, and the nice breakfast into the equation brought the value closer to what we would consider reasonable, if still a bit pricey.

If we revisited the area, I think we would look at staying elsewhere, just to see if we could do better, or if all the hotels are in similar condition.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the higher floors to get a better view. Perhaps a smaller bed would leave more room...
