Despite showing up at the Rocktide Inn Restaurant on their last day of the season, the steamed lobster was absolutely fabulous and extremely fresh. Typically, I am not a huge fan of lobster but I had to try it while in Maine. After this experience, I will never hesitate while in Maine. In addition to the lobster, the bread was unbelievable and served with water after being seated. Although it may appear as though you have received an entire loaf, the bread is light and airy inside making it just perfect for one person. In contrast to those who like an extended menu, I appreciate that food is typically better if the chef can concentrate excellence on a limited menu. So, bravo for the fabulous food. The service was a little slow but I imagine that the staffing was limited as it was the last night of the season.

We've always enjoyed the dinner menu at the Rocktide, but this year we were very disappointed to find the menu cut back. Every entree was fried with exception of the twin lobster special. The food was just average and for the prices, really not worth it. We ate dinner elsewhere for the rest of our visit.

We’re sorry to learn of your disappointing meal at Rocktide. Our goal is to provide an exceptional experience to each and every one of our customers at all times. Sadly, there may have been a misunderstanding at the time of your visit - as out of our twenty item dinner menu, only one item is fried - and we have pasta, chicken, beef and non-fried fish items daily. We do hope you'll try us again next season, and we'd be more than happy to review the menu and point you towards the many fine non-fried options available. We very much appreciate your constructive feedback and we would love to have the opportunity to make it up to you on your next visit! Please get in touch with us at: jgsrocktide@gmail.com.

My friend and I arrived at the Rocktide Inn Restaurant a couple minutes before happy hour pricing ended and asked to see the menu. Our waiter gave us both the happy hour and regular menu. The happy hour selection and pricing looked very good, so we found a great table on the gorgeous waterfront deck. The service was prompt and friendly. We ordered drinks and (supper) appetizers and watched a lovely sunset from our table. As the lights went on in Boothbay Harbor, we also appreciated the village view across the harbor. We found this restaurant almost by accident; to get there, take the footbridge from the village.

We've always been so happy with the Rocktide, but this time some changes brought us great disappointment...... The menu was greatly cut back and entrees were a la carte, with expensive side dishes. The food was just average and for the prices, really not worth it. We are sorry to say it was our last visit....

The view of Boothbay Harbor is stunning. The lunch sandwiches were very good. The service was pleasant but very slow--and they were not crowded.
