“A very "pleasant" stay at the Pleasant Mountain Inn...”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

My wife & I stayed 3 nights over the Thanksgiving holiday here. We were able to check in early which is always a plus for us. The staff was helpful when we needed to get our towels changed early and provided more in room coffee. The room was clean and a tad bit bigger than we expected with a table and 3 chairs. The bathroom was also clean and functional. The in room WiFi was spotty at best, it worked much better just outside of our room, which was room 9. Even know the room was facing Rt. 302, the highway noise didn't bother me and at night, Rt.302 didn't seem to be very busy at all. There is quite a huge lawn in the back of the motel that leads down to Beaver Pond and a cool old cemetery on the property. It was quite nice to have a restaurant attached to the motel, the Campfire Grille. The food there is really good and it has a nice bar with 8 or 12 craft beers, some of them are from local brewers. I love being able to get a good meal, enjoy a few beers, and know I don't have to drive back to my hotel/motel. The town of Bridgton is less than 5 miles away with some shops and eateries, Beth's Kitchen Cafe was one we tried for lunch and really enjoyed. The proximity to North Conway, NH (20 miles or so) and the White Mountains is also a plus for us. Will we be back? You bet and next time I want to try one of the rooms out back that have decks attached.

Stayed 4 nights in one of the half dozen rooms near Beaver Pond. The room was away from the road and very quiet. We had a room with a balcony over looking the pond and complete with microwave and refrigerator. The curtains and prints on walls were above average quality. Found that the staff was very cooperative and courteous. The staff are very approachable to ensure that your stay meets your needs. The attached grill was lively and served good food and spirits when downtown Bridgton was closed for the night. Prices were very competitive and with the refrigerator and microwave we prepared breakfast and sometimes lunch in the room.

Room Tip: Tell the staff what you need in order to make your stay successful. Rooms in the newer building in...

This is an older establishment, but clean and functional. Hotel staff at the desk was very friendly. It is located very close to Rt 302, so some noise to be expected. I was in Bridgton for a business trip, and did not feel like driving 1 hour back to Lewiston to the Hilton (i am a gold hilton member). It's not a Hilton, but it was clean which is important.

Room Tip: I noted some rooms in the back, off the main road.. could be less noisy .

We stayed at the Pleasant Mountaint Inn for one night. Small room, clean, very functional. Friendly reception and efficient check-in.
Rooms at the front were noisy in the morning with all the traffic, but what do you expect for $80something

Well, if you need a place to stay in a pinch then you can consider the Pleasant Mountain Inn but this place needs a web site that really shows the conditions of the rooms and the surroundings. It is too close to Route 302 so it is noisy. The pet friendly room is smelly, ugly with old flourescent lights and one tiny window. the "regular" two double bed room smelled so badly of strong cleaning chemical that we opened the door to let in some fresh air and hence the road noise. The refrigerator was not plugged in, the bathroom was well appointed with towels and such. The rug was old and worn, the windows were small and the shades/curtains hard to open and close. There is no access to the tiny pond in the back and you have to drive to anything. There is no reception area, no wi fi in the rooms (an additional $35.00 -- if it works) We actually LEFT and went someplace else. It was a pleasure to lose the deposit.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else

We were happy to refund you half the amount of one of the two rooms that you reserved for August 20th,2013.One room was untouched , however the other room was and could not be re-rented. Our understanding , from speaking with your father who facilitated the refund , was that you were unhappy that we did not have a pool and due to your visual impairment that was important to you. We did offer to move you to a room of your choice. There are several discrepancies in your Trip Advisor complaint that we would like to clarify. We offer FREE Wi-Fi in all rooms , we do offer a small sandy beach with access to Beaver Pond , we are set back from the road at least 100 feet , all appliances are unplugged and all light bulbs are compact fluorescents in order to be environmentally friendly , Room 6 has 3 large windows overlooking the gardens , pond and Shawnee Peak. We have a reception area that is adjacent to our on- site restaurant , we are located in the country but less than 5 minutes from town. We are sorry that there were smells that disturbed you , we work very hard to keep our rooms clean and fresh smelling. We also reserve rooms that are pet - free for those with sensitivities. We are proud to be the only pet friendly facility in the area.

My husband and I recently spent three nights at this motel while visiting family in Bridgton. Upon check-in we where greated by very friendly staff. Our room was clean and the grounds where beautifully groomed, I loved the view of Beaver Pond from our room! I will certainly recommend this Inn to our friends.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 20, which had a balcony with a beautiful view.

This was the eighth hotel we used during our Fall tour and by far the worst even in comparison with cheap motels. Checking in at the musty-smelling reception we were directed around to the rear. The view to Beaver Pond was pretty but the room (26) stunk of dogs. Fortunately it was sunny so we held the external door wide with a chair for over 3 hours hoping ventilation would help, it didn't. We would have complained but a No Vacancy sign had hung in reception so we weren't hopeful for a swop and it was for one night only. The only light into the room came from a small 3'x2' window so lights were on permanently. The so-called full kitchen contained a mismatch of metal cutlery ( one teaspoon only ) and plastic. The room could sleep 3 but we had one wine glass and soft drinks were either drunk from beakers or plastic cups!! There were 2 chairs at the table. The kitchen cupboard surprisingly contained 5 tins-Campbell's soup, tinned fruit, sweet corn and green beans plus a perfumed candle - presumably left by previous guests, which we didn't appreciate. The smell of dogs was confirmed by finding a play ball just under the bed.
Surprisingly we chose not to eat in the attached restaurant. Breakfast was not available and the attached restaurant only sells it on a Sunday!
In the morning I discovered that a hairdryer was not provided as well. We felt that the quality of this hotel felt way below the rates that they were charging and could not recommend under the circumstances.

We are sorry to hear that you had a less them optimal stay with us. Our on-site staff are available 24/7 to address guest concerns. We would have done our best to make your stay more enjoyable. Unfortunately, the week of Fryeburg Fair was an unusually rainy and humid one. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our rooms and friendliness of our staff. We realize that our silverware is not matching, however in order to support our local animal shelter we purchase items for our rooms from their thirft shop. We prefer to provide mugs and plastic glasses in our rooms for the safety of guests.

Please allow us an opportunity to show you why our many return guests love Pleasant Mountain Inn.
