Everything freshly prepared so we were there for a while but it was worth the wait. The rack of lamb was excellent and my wife enthusiased over the haddock. This made for a very pleasant evening out.

“A Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 October 2013

We have eaten at Tom's Homestead several times over the past fifteen years, while visiting my mother who lived in Bridgton until her death this year.

Tom's is a "special night" restaurant, and it's not really a good fit for children. The ambiance is lovely (seating is in different rooms on the first floor of an old house) and the food is quite good. Yes, the table receives an "old-fashioned" amuse (a crystal dish with celery, carrots and pickled radishes? I forget the exact contents), but I found this effect endearing and an invitation to relax and return to the "old days" rather than as an affront. The menu changes, and everything is cooked to order. Do NOT dine at Tom's if you are in a hurry -- it's meant to be a relaxing evening. Sit back, enjoy your company, the wine and the food.

“Avoid!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 October 2013 via mobile

We decided on passing by to stop and have dinner. A pretentious menu, well priced gave hope for a good meal.
The reception by the waiting staff was shabby, we've had more refined amuse-de-bouche then a sellery stick, a radish and a spring onion in a tray of ice and the duck in a rashberry sauce had lost it's life for nothing. This was pure animal cruelty. The pilav rice was overpowered by a ton of sage and the broccoli was too salty.
The wine however was good.
All in all a disgrace for the hospitality industry

“Short Stay”

The exterior is very attractive. The dining room is very traditional. The hostess was very grumpy. As the dining room was without A/C and very warm, we opted to leave before being seated for dinner.

“Always a good meal”

We love Tom's. If you are the type that is in a hurry, wait until you have time to enjoy a dining experience. The service here is paced and NEVER hurried. You will have anple time to study the menu and ask questions of the Waitstaff. The courses come perfectly timed and we've found the food to be consistantly Excellent. A lifes work,Tom has restored a fine old home into a cozy eatery with anple room.
