Venezia Ristorante is an odd little place well north of "downtown" Bridgton. Up 'til recently, it was only open three nights a week. Food is quite good, home-made Boston North End italian (and unfortunately has the Boston prices to go with it.) The other reviewers' comments about "tude are on the money - but who hasn't gotten exactly the same thing a Amici, Carmelina's, La Famiglia, etc. in Boston? For "that special dinner", we go farther up 302 to the Oxford House Inn in Fryeburg or west on rte 11 to Fuel in Lewiston (parking is too much of a PITA in Portland!)

Although it is true that the owner(and waitress) can at times be rude, that it often takes a whileto get your meal, its still worth the visit. I have eaten here at least once every summer since it has opened and have never been disappointed with their food. The veal marsala is better than any I ever had in Boston's North End. The eggplant rolatini melts in your mouth. The bread is always fresh and the deserts(make sure to save room) are to die for
.So be prepared, the service can be very slow, and yes, the waitress might be a bit rude but once you bite into your meal all that will be forgotton.

We booked for 6.15pm, arrived early and sat at our table till 7.25pm when our starters arrived. My Veal maincourse was okay but was sitting in a watery sauce that did not help the visual appeal.

The plain exterior does no justice to the interior decor or menu. Our party of four were all very pleased with our dinner selections, which ranged from pasta to seafood. Pleasant waitress added to the experience. Starting at $19 per dish of pasta without a salad, a bit pricy for the area.

The food here is OK, nothing special, but good for the area. However, they don't have enough servers to deal with a full or even almost full restaurant. The owner takes the orders and there are a couple of people helping her. She has the tendency to be rude and downright nasty with customers whom I suppose in her mind are not always right. Do yourself a favor and be treated as one should somewhere else.
