My husband and I went to Secrets Maroma Beach for our honeymoon. It was both our first time in Mexico and to an AI. We loved it! It was very relaxing and the workers really cater to you! Not once did we pass an employee who did not say greet us. Definitely tip, they deserve it!

We stayed in an ocean view room, the building closest to the main lobby. Although, it wasn't very close, it was still beautiful! Going on a budget, it was not bad at all. We also did a romantic dinner on the beach, definitely would recommend if you're on a honeymoon. It's quiet, very romantic, and calming. They have the dinners right on the beach...go around 7:00 p.m. to watch the sunrise (in September at at least).

The food is good, breakfast I found the best at the WorldCafe. The Barefoot Grille (for lunch) gets old after two days...same things. The buffets at night, are okay, nothing special. They have fresh squeezed orange juice and the water is filtered everywhere! I did not hear of one person getting sick off the food or water. Drinks are nice and they keep them coming...if you didn't have a drink in your hand or near you, an employee was asking if you'd like one.

Overall, we had a great time. I think it says something that on our first day I was looking to plan our trip for next year!!!

I've visited several all-inclusive resorts over the last 8 or so years and this is one of the best! The food was fantastic, drinks were delicious, resort was beautiful, but the thing that made this resort top-notch was the customer service and their attention to detail. You genuinely feel as though employees care if you're satisfied and happy on your stay.

We stayed in a preferred junior swim-out suite - what a great amenity! We didn't have a view of the ocean because we were on the first floor, but it was amazing and so worth the extra fee. Also worth the extra fee are the beach cabana beds. Our beach concierge, Jamie, was AWESOME! He brought us anything and everything we needed before we even asked for it.

This was one vacation I will definitely not forget and Secrets Maroma made my birthday a perfect one :-).

We have now stayed at every Secrets resort in Mexico and Jamaica. Maroma is BY FAR the best! We love the atmosphere that all Secrets resorts have. Adults only, mostly, but not ONLY couples, great service, and a contemporary style. This brings the type of people that want to relax, but also want to have fun. Just what we look for.
Secrets Maroma topped the other resorts in almost every category. It is a beautiful resort with one of the best beaches I've ever seen! Rooms seemed secluded from the common area, not by distance but by the lush trees and plants that separate them. Just look at a few pictures and you can't deny how nice this resort is.
Service was top notch; every last employee did their best to take care of whatever you needed. Service by the pool was always right on time for your next drink. You never even had to get out of the pool to fill up on all the food that the restaurant chefs brought around at lunch time. The entertainment staff never stopped having fun with all the guests. From volley ball by the pool to the night club Desires; the entertainment staff was right there having a blast with you. Concierge helped us with whatever we needed as well as the front desk helped us arrange transportation for a few excursions. Don't be put off by the time share pitch; it’s not as bad as people say. Just tell him you're not interested, have a nice friendly 10 min chat about your vacation and where you're from, and you'll be on your way in no time. He was a very nice guy, just be nice in return and there won't be any pressure to do the time share. The only service issue we had was with restocking bottled water for our room, a must for any all inclusive resort. We could have just had bad timing, but a few nights we had to call to get more water. They apologized and water arrived quickly, problem solved.
I was surprised they didn't have more motorized water sport activities. We really wanted to do jet skis, but all of the motorsport activities were excursions to Cancun, nothing AT the resort just some kayaks, and hobbie cats, which was a bit of a disappointment.
Nightly shows were fun but typical of most resorts in the area. Fire show, dance show, magician, comedian, etc. Where the nightlife stood out was at Desires, a GREAT on site nightclub. It was busy each night with people who just want to dance and have fun. If you like a slower paced nightlife the main lobby had a great atmosphere for friendly conversation over drinks, with a lounge singer and piano.
We booked a swim-out room which was very nice and worth the extra money. We found each night as the pool bars started to close we grabbed on last drink and went to our swim-out to relax a bit before getting ready for the night. The swim out pool does get dirty easily due to the trees right next to them, but they are cleaned out early each morning.
Restaurants were VERY nice. Maybe a little too nice, I had trouble finding stuff to eat at some places. The Italian was great, steak house was excellent, morning and lunch buffets had something for everyone. Asian isn’t really my thing but was good. However the French was a bit too upscale for us. I couldn’t pronounce let alone eat half of it.
This is the first resort we've been to where I would rather go back then try a new resort. I would still like to see other resorts, but I know I can have an amazing trip whenever I want at Secrets Maroma.

Room Tip: Bring some bread for the Fish in the ocean. Anyone who wants some beautiful pictures, walk south down the beach to the abandoned mansion. It's a little creepy but an amazing photo op.

Stayed here for eight days for our honeymoon in the honeymoon suite. We have been to a number of all inclusive resorts in Mexico and this one has the best food, rooms, and staff we have found. The drinks are made with name brand quality liquor and if you are in preferred club you can get premium liquors as well. The nightly shows are entertaining but not as well done as I've seen at some other resorts. We'll definitely be back!

Room Tip: Don't expect your "oceanview" room to be ocean front, if this is really important to you as it was us you need to book a honeymoon suite as these are the only rooms that directly face the ocean.

This was absolutely our best vacation ever. Off Hwy 307 thru the security gates & then down a bumpy hard pack road that first leads to a narrow brick road and into a paved Paradise. Past the Jurassic Park looking gate past final security lies a resort that is in a word Paradise. Greeted warmly as soon as got out of our Private transfer with a “Hola Mr. & Mrs” then in to an unpretentious lobby sublime full with fountains and smiling staff. A quick check in & a moment with the VIP staff two friendly No’s & we were on our way to our room.
Room #1216 swim out 1st floor in the building closest to the main building. Some more walking to the beach but nicely close to the restaurants, main building, etc. Room nicely appointed with King Bed, very comfortable. Separate whirlpool tube, large shower w/seat, water closet. With double vanity sink. Lots of shelves & room to store your clothes. Mini bar well stocked, coffee maker, safe, flat screen Tv w/lots of channels. Out the Patio door to the wonderful swim out. Patio with chaise and padded Love seat. Room temp was fine still get a fan cuts down on any noise.
Beach this is where SMB shines. First no towel games here. See Kevin or another pool Concierge & you can always get a couple of chairs. The Beach beds were pure luxury, service was VIP. Moises, Jaime & Kevin see to your every need. Lunch is brought right to you & drinks are superb. Pacifico Beer flows cold & often, they are great about suggesting drinks. Food is always good & lunch is best here try the jalapeño poppers & the nachos. The regular area of the beach is nice as well & bar service is good. Beach is kept clean every day of any seaweed.
Pool again no towel games here. FYI it all started when a group of 80 in a wedding party stayed & tried to reserve that many chairs each morning. Of course more than 50% would set empty all day. Nothing left before 10:30 left for 30+ minutes will reserve a chair. This means you can go actually have breakfast & then to the pool or beach. Pool volleyball is fun & the entertainment staff makes it really fun. Pool aerobics are good as well. Pool floats can be had again some guests think they should keep them all day even when not using them & again Kevin will make sure they’re shared. Great food around the pool & they even serve food in the pool. Swim up bar stays busy but you won’t wait long for anything at SMB.
Restaurants like many have said World Café has awesome breakfast. Dinner was had at all the restaurants & was all very good. NO reservations needed except Himitsu (Asian). Room service is fast average 25 mins & a complete menu. Try the Strawberry Ice cream at 2 am it’s good. Coco Café is very good. Grabbed a cup of coffee & got on the free internet most morning
Spa wife got manicure, pedicure and liked it. Cigar shop is good however Cigars are expensive in Mexico.
Entertainment, we caught several of the shows, house band is really good, Disco is fun. The Rock show, Fire show were good. The American Idol show was hokey & we saw the worst impression of Mick Jagger it was so bad it was funny.
Lots of Honeymoon couples here makes for a good & romantic environment
Tips-many had mosquito issues we did not bring a couple of OFF clip ons & spray, Bring sunscreen & or get a base tan before you arrive. Tip the staff they deserve it, utilize the Sports equipment like the catamarans, kayaks etc. Don’t wear your new wedding ring in to the Ocean more than one was lost our week. Use the hotel’s transportation a bit pricey but you get to ride in style w/out worrying about getting to & from the Airport.
No real complaints, noise came from other guests & birds. Lots of ants on the patio. The water level in the swim out did fluctuate from day to day. Room clock went to 12:00 several times, we never did figure out why?
Overall recap-Beach Beds are totally worth it, the Swim outs are too. No Dinner reservations needed, no chair hogs, A+ service with a smile, Great beach, No wristbands, beds have box springs
The staff here is the absolute best we have ever encountered. After 15 trips & 8 cruises nothing compares equally to this staff that’s one of the main reasons we’ll return. FYI the Resort was at full capacity. This resort is Highly Recommended !

Room Tip: Swim outs are a plus.
