My wife and I took some time away from the jobs and kids too to have a relaxing enjoyable time for each other. The resort was fantastic to say the least. The beaches were beautiful with the white sand and the ocean view was something you would see in a magazine. The staff was so nice and customer focused in everyway that it made our trip even more enjoyable. Every meal we ate was always great and through out the week, the staff were always surprising us with personal touches in our room and on the resort. We enjoyed our trip so much we became a club member so we can go back with the kids and possilby other family and friends.g
Sarah Gladstone was our travel agent and she was so helpful to give us options to make our trip so great. She also had a lot of insight into the resorts and made sure before traveled internationally we had everything we needed to travel and prepared us for such a trip as this. She was great and i will use Sarah our; future trips that I plan in the future.

Room Tip: We had a infiniti pool which was nice to have in your room but did not use it once for whatever reas...

My husband and I have vacationed in Mexico the past 4 years, and each time has been at the same resort brand. We decided this year to add a couple of days and try somewhere new. Upon arrival at El Dorado we loved the feel of the resort. It is much smaller than the resorts we had stayed at previously. We stayed in a honeymoon suite on the third floor and loved the layout of the room. The bathroom was nice and large, there was a nice sitting area, and we thought the bed was comfortable. The only fault I could find with the room is it needs better lighting. We loved the large balcony overlooking the pool, and we could see a little bit of the ocean through the palm tree leaves. Since we were at El Dorado for such a short time we didn't get to experience all of the restaurants. The food at Pepitos was our favorite breakfast and lunch, while the Asian restaurant was our favorite dinner. The only questionable meal we had during our stay was at the Italian restaurant- my husband ordered the sea bass. We are both pretty sure the fish he was served was not sea bass- the taste and consistency were not that of any sea bass we have eaten. So far the little negatives I have mentioned would not keep us from returning. What did concern us were a couple of the activities planned by the resort that promoted a spring break type atmosphere. We were relaxing and reading on our balcony one day and had to relocate because of a very loud and rowdy water balloon fight in the pool below. The next day there was a band at the pool, which wouldn't have been so bad- but then it became a game of name that tune where loud snippets of songs were played and very loud drunk guests yelled song titles and screamed loudly once the correct answer was given. We were on the beach and could still hear the commotion. This was not what we were expecting when we booked this resort. I went back and forth between a three star and four star rating- but based on the fantastic service at the pool and on the beach, beautiful accommodations and fresh delicious food I went with four stars. I hope to return to this resort someday, but I will definitely be watching reviews and forums to make sure what I experienced was just bad timing and doesn't become the norm.

The whole trip was more than expected! The service was excellent and the staff went out of there way to make sure that we were enjoying our stay. From check in to the waiters to the entertainment staff and bar tenders, everyone was pleasant and wanted to make our stay enjoyable. The entire staff really seem to love there jobs. The resort was beautiful with all the palm trees and flowers and the white sand beach with the small island off the shore was paradise. We will definitely be returning there!

We were referred by our travel agent to this resort for our week long honeymoon, and we were overwhelmed. From the moment we arrived on the property (and quickly given cold towels and champagne!!), we were amazed. This staff is unbelievable. While we were there, the resort may have been at 50-60% capacity, and there were easily 2 staff members per guest. We were never without any assistance, and everyone was so eager to help. The staff truly made our trip.

The beach was great! My husband and I frequent Seaside, FL a lot for the beautiful beaches. We have been told beaches in Mexico can be iffy, but Maroma did not disappoint. It was gorgeous!

The food was also really, really good for an all-inclusive resort. Papitos--spectacular. Our favorite lunch we had was at Sabores (steak tacos!!), and our favorite dinner was at Kiyoko. The sushi was so fresh, and the banana spring rolls for dessert were to die for. We were very impressed with the quality of food served.

While we were there, we went to the Maroma Marina next door for a deep sea fishing excursion. Even though our whole boat ended up sick, we still caught a 4 ft Mahi Mahi, which the resort grilled for us that night. We were so impressed with the staff taking care of everything for us, even making sure our fish was cooked to our liking!

Since we were on our honeymoon, we received the honeymoon package which included: a couples massage, private candlelight dinner on the beach, free wi-fi, and breakfast in bed. The couples massage was perfect. We chose to have it over the water in the "Sky Massage," and the breeze and sounds were so nice.

Overall, we had a blast! I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation. This is not a party resort by any means. We loved spending our week here for our honeymoon!

Room Tip: We were in an infinity pool jacuzzi suite (Room 311). We had a partial ocean view, but our room was...

First off let me say that everyone that we came in contact with was some of the nicest and friendly people one could meet, from the bell boy to the bus boy, simply amazing!
Let me start off by giving extra credit to a couple of people that made our trip outstanding.

Luis, with Lomas travel, took care of everything from booking our excursions to making sure we were being taken care of and had a smile the whole time.

Marco, our Concierge, was right there checking with us and making sure the room was in order, checking to make sure the maid service was done to our liking and even taking us on a tour of another Resort when we inquired about bringing our adult kids in the future, something that wasn't asked for or expected.

Paul, at Sobores Restaurant, was such a nice and attentive waiter and was willing to do anything to make our meal even more enjoyable.

Javier Hun & Jonas Cortes, both waiters at Papitos Gourmet Beach Club, Friendly and fun, willing to do anything to make us feel welcome and had our coffee with Bailie's Irish Cream ready as soon as we walked in. We have never had such excellent service!

We cannot forget two of the best Bartenders we have ever meet, Emilo and Alejandro from bar 24. Emilio is a Dr. when it comes to making drinks, with his charismatic personality to his genuine love of his job, he made one of his drinks I wish I could make at home "Emilo #5" all I can say is OMG! Alejandro, for a young man this guy knows his stuff. He made me the BEST "Apple Martini" I have ever had and I cannot stand martini's!

By now, one could guess we were simply amazed by how well we were treated, so well that we became members. We will come back, Kent and Anna.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room with an "Infinity Pool" simply stunning!!!

Gorgeous beach and wonderful rooms. Pampered by the fantastic staff from the moment we arrived until we left a week later. We were worried that we wouldn’t enjoy it as much as we did on our last visit but we loved every minute of it.

Room Tip: There are rooms by the swim up pool that are nice, however, we like the rooms that face the other po...

We stayed at this amazing resort for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. Jennifer Byrne at The Tropical Travelers planned this trip out for us and it was amazing from start to finish. Booking through this travel agency was a huge help to us and they got us an amazing deal with a wonderful honeymoon package (including breakfast in bed, couples massage, private beach dinner, the works) and an upgraded room. We stayed in one of the infinity pool suits and it was AMAZING. Huge, gorgeous room. The infinity pool was great when we wanted some privacy. The day bed on the terrace is great for lounging and room service is always just a phone call away. The people here really go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. In particular, Renee, Eric, Diego, Pedro Luis, Fulgencio, Andres, Sandra, Israeli the amazing concierge, were all amazing and went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. Highlights for us were our whale shark excursion (totally worth it, if you're considering, do it), breakfast at Papitos, lunch at Sabores, dinner at the Italian restaurant. Our trip to Tulum wasn't the best so I would recommend skipping that. Honestly with so much to do at the resort and so many great people there, we were happy to stay there every day and relax and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere.
