“Train Rides”
Reviewed 17 July 2013

Take the train from Brunswick to Rockland Maine. A great trip along the coast and through the countryside. You can see lots by rail that you cannot see by car. Take the trip north along the coast, have lunch in Rockland and then return to points south. Or stay a night or two and take the train back after a little rest and relaxation. www.maineeasternrailroad.com

“If your looking for a lovely New England street to stroll/shop/eat this is a great choice.”
Reviewed 11 July 2013

Lots of restaurants, quaint stores, and lovely architecture.

While the stores are not open late, some do seem to stay open later than in the surrounding towns.

They have surprising number of international restaurants, and best of all, I don't remember seeing any chain restaurants!

The amount of time you'll want to send here will depend entirely on how much shopping and eating you want to do. I imagine we could have walked the street and back in 30 minutes, if we wanted to. But we spent an evening there and only made it into two stores and two restaurants (pizza and gelato), before everything started to close for the night. Next time we will go earlier and allow ourselves more time for browsing through the stores.

“Fun stores to explore”
Reviewed 7 July 2013

Maine Street is about 1/2 mile long and has interesting stores and restaurants on both sides of the street. We just window shopped as we were only in Brunswick for one day, but wished we had had a couple of days.

“If You Can't Find It Here You Don't Need It”
Reviewed 25 May 2013

More and more this street is both the way life used to be and the way it should be soon again. It’s an ever-changing parade of shops and stops that cater to everyone's everyday needs. From the bridge at Androscoggin Falls up to Bowdoin College on the hill, there’s much to find here — cafes, restaurants, delis, bistros, bars, donut shops, bakeries, corner stores, and grocers. You’ll find news dealers, bankers, lawyers, jewelers, physicians, opticians, audiologists, pharmacists, tobacconists, clothiers, and insurers; galleries, accessory shops, camera shops, music shops, electronics stores, department stores, shoe stores, consignment shops, bookshops, furniture stores, gift shops, toy shops, bicycle shops, dance studios, and more! If only every Maine town could have so much accessible on such a short stretch of street! And did I mention the town park and the concert gazebo and the easy nose-in curbside parking? The ease and convenience of finding so much all in one place puts many other towns to shame. See if for yourself, and bring a camera!

“A wonderful walk, historical, interesting and LOTS of restaurants!”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

Maine Street Brunswick has much to offer residents and tourists alike! Many small shops for anything you might be shopping for; you'll find home goods, clothing, toys, furniture and antiques, a wonderful natural foods market named "Morning Glory"... So many restaurants from Asian to American, Chinese to Indian, a wonderful deli and everything in-between. And be sure to stop in at Gelato Fiasco for the best gelato you will ever taste. Huge selection of flavors change daily, free tastes and they have every flavor imaginable and such a friendly, fun place! Lots to enjoy in downtown Brunswick!
