This is a nice hotel with some caveats. Location is good but double rooms are SMALL. I did not see the suites but they may be better (even though it's a sofa bed) for small families. The lobby is very nice and the staff is helpful but the breakfast room has too few tables and the hotel has room to add 25-50% more 2-3 person tables instead of having only large ones. The breakfast should be better for a BW "Plus" hotel. The fake eggs are inedible and the hotel should consider finding a better egg product provider, or they should consider offering hard boiled eggs in the fridge, as other similar chains do. The pastry products were consistently stale and inedible. The coffee was good. Beds are very comfortable. Other people have noted these flaws too and obviously while the manager might add a scripted response below this they obviously have no plans to change any of these noted flaws, so keep that in mind. Overall for a long vacation stay (we were there for a week) I would go back to renting a house. For a trip through Maine, a 1 or 2 night stay, it would be fine. Our lock broke the last day and it took a while for them to help us but the were nice about it. The electronics blew or something like that.

Dear Karen K.,

Thank you for your recent review of your stay at our Best Western Plus Brunswick. I have noted your comments and they will be forwarded to the General Manager. I like your idea of adding hard boiled eggs and will see what we can do. Please know that we do value all the feedback we receive. We have the larger tables in the breakfast room because the majority of our guests have 3 or more people in their rooms. We do hope to see you again when you come through Brunswick next time.

Have a wonderful day!

The room was very clean. The staff was pleasant. It was quiet and comfortable. The room was quite large. I enjoyed my outdoor porch. Overall, a good value. Had a lovely stay in Brunswick. The internet service was fine.

We enjoyed our stay; the staff were friendly and helpful. The facility was centrally located to the places we wanted to visit/shop. It was close to Freeport, Popham Beach, antique shopping in Brunswick, and there were plenty of local restaurants and entertainment close by.

Recently stayed at the Best Western Plus in Brunswick, Maine. I decided against spending more money to stay in town, thinking the motel wouldn't be that far out from the center, but it was a little farther than I had imagined. On the plus side, the motel was very clean and organized. Check in was flawless. Breakfast was more than I had expected: scrambled eggs, sausage patties, yoghurt, fruit (not too appetizing apples and oranges) granola, bagels, muffins, cereal, oatmeal, tea and coffee. The beds were very comfortable and, as it was cool, I opened the window instead of turning on the AC (always a nuisance). Didn't use the salt water pool but the family using it seemed to be having lots of fun. My only complaint is with the state of Maine, for not having enough signs. Dreadfully difficult driving around!

Stayed here a year ago, but we remember some details very well. The first standard room we got smelled like Indian food, coming from the hallway. We complained about it. We were told the owners have a room in the hotel and they cook in the room.

They gave us a free upgrade to a suite. The first room we entered in this suite was the bedroom, right by the door. Then, towards the back was a room with a heart shaped jacuzzi, and that was the room that had a window. The jacuzzi room was lacking in taste with some dust attracting decorations. I assumed it had been decorated a long time before, and had never been upgraded to something more modern. The jacuzzi did not look inviting at all, and the room felt like it was a bit neglected, so we didn't use it.

The biggest problem for me was the fact that all of the room doors slammed shut upon closing. We stayed in this hotel for three days, and each morning we were disturbed by the neighboring doors loudly slamming shut. With the bed so close to the door, the loud noise was very prominent.

Also, we had placed a do not disturb sign outside our door, but took it off when we left the room in the morning. We assumed housekeeping would come back to service the room. They did not, because once they see a DND sign, they don't come back. So, we didn't have any toilet paper when we got back to our room. We had to go get it from the front desk.

My rating for this hotel is close to average, but not close enough. Perhaps the room with the smell would have been the better room, but the noise from the doors probably would have still been an issue.

Stayed 1 night with my daughter and her family, after a Day Out With Thomas at Boothbay Railway Village, and Cap'n Fish's Seal Watch Harbor Cruise. We found the room clean, beds very comfortable, with pillows to spare. Free breakfast, in a cozy-feeling dining room, included gluten free options like Rice Chex cereal, several different flavors of Yoplait yogurt, instant oatmeal (not labeled gluten-free), sausage, bacon, and scrambled eggs. There was also toast, bagels (jellies and cream cheese), muffins, and make-it-yourself waffles for the gluten-eating crowd. Variety of beverages - coffee, several different tea bags, hot cocoa mix, apple, orange, and cranberry juices, and water. A microwave on the counter to warm your food is handy. Also fresh apples, oranges, and bananas. The next day, we walked the lovely streets of Brunswick and shopped the many stores.
