“Great fun for kids and adults.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2014

Racing slot cars was so much fun! We raced for half an hour (we are adults). Different cars perform differently on the track (hint: the blue car is great for kids because it really sticks to the track). Some cars are so fast and light that they can fly off the corners if you don't throttle back, but that made the racing interesting. The half hour went by quickly and I would love to do it again when next I visit Brunswick. The store itself if stocked with a great variety of excellent children's toys. It is worth stopping in if you are in the area.

“Who knew there were miniature NASCAR racing thrills tucked away in a corner of the Tontine Mall?!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 May 2014

My granddaughter (5 yrs old), my daughter (well over 30), and I (well over 60) stopped in to this selectively stocked toy store and miniature race car track and had a ball! The 15-minute training and demonstration satisfied our need for a little friendly child, aunt, grandma competition. Keeping your car on the track (that is not spinning out on the curves) is more challenging than you'd think! Try it someday with your favorite kid when you're looking for some fun.

“Fun! Everyone should try slot car racing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 January 2014

I am a middle aged mom, this was way fun! Pick the shiny silver car, race and feel some stress go away. I bought a race track and three cars for my husband for Christmas, he is 52, and loves it!

The toys in the store to play with, my three year old loves, so it's a family adventure to go here. Support local business and go here the next time you need a pad of construction paper, a birthday party gift or want some fun!

“Fun and not just for car guys/gals”

You seldom find these tracks. It was popular 30 or 40 years ago, but popularity ebbed with the advent of radio control cars. Still, we visited this place and had fun! The track is much smaller than the track I had seriously raced on 30+ years ago, but that’s an unfair comparison. The racetrack we frequented back then were huge, 15 meters in length on the straightaway; a different era. The track here is much smaller and the cars also a smaller scale. This track has 4 lanes and speed can be adjusted to the skills of the drivers. When we visited it was just us [all adult age], and had the track speed cranked up…what fun! If there happens to be a really young person, let’s say less than 10 years old, and the track speed turned down, then it’s not as much fun since you can just keep the thumb pressed all the way down on the accelerator for the entire track. But when the speed is cranked up, it then becomes a game of skill. Staff was friendly. There’s also an extensive selection of tracks and cars for sale.

Track rental includes cars, there was an adequate selection. Definitely an activity that’s more fun when there's at least 2 people. Enjoyable amusement for an hour. The entrance to this small indoor mall, which is off the town’s main boulevard, is a little hard to spot from the street. We would definitely do this activity again if we happen to be in the area.

And why would you? Slot Car Junction literally has something for everyone and I never miss an opportunity to drop by - sometimes alone and other times with friends and/or family - for some exciting slot car racing and/or picking up several items (and one of the many beautiful things about this place is the variety of beautiful things to buy; many imported....at terrific prices by the way) either for our home or to give as gifts. And with the holidays fast approaching there's no question I'll be stopping in quite a few times to fill the stocking (stuffers).
