“Great Place, But Where's My Whoopie Pie?”
Reviewed 30 October 2013 via mobile

This lovely, comfortable Inn could not be more convenient. You are literally steps from anywhere you would want to go in Brunswick. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The bathrooms are large and have good water pressure. The beds are some of the best I have encountered in my travels. The staff is young, friendly, and customer oriented. But where's my whoopie pie? When you enter your room there is a card on your desk from the manager welcoming you to Maine and inviting you to try the traditional dessert of the whoopie pie that they provide. We got the note, but no whoopie pie was with it. We wrote a note on the card and laughed about it with the guy who cleaned our room the next day. He said he would tell the manager, but over our three day stay, no whoopie pie appeared. This ruined our entire vacation and we cried ourselves to sleep each night. Just kidding, of course. You will enjoy your stay at the Inn with or without a whoopie pie. It's the best place to stay in Brunswick.

When visiting Bowdoin College or the Freeport/lower mid-coast Maine area this is a great location. The rooms are VERY large and clean. The whole hotel is stately and serene. The Tavern staff were very friendly and helpful. It was lovely to sit out on the patio on these crisp fall evenings and enjoy their fire-pits with a glass of wine. Only areas for improvement: bathrooms need towel bars, so that those of us who don't change towels daily can adequately dry our towels. Also, as the rooms are so huge, it would be nice to have an end table near the sitting chair and perhaps a alrge ottoman. Very good hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed on the top floor facing the college and it was great.

We liked the hotel very much - even it was quite pricey - it was a family occation - the hotel was beautifully designed - everything elegant and serene - what I found was missing was atmosphere -all seemed too stiff - the staff performed excellently.

Room Tip: don't know

Green Features: We liked that the food was from local sources. It is always great to hear that the hotel emloyes enviromentally sound practices. This is so very important for our world right now.

This Inn/hotel offers a wonderful location to everything in downtown Brunswick - and the rooms are both clean and comfortable, offering terrific amenities! The Tavern was a great choice for breakfast and they also had a good dinner menu. I noticed the staff were mostly young, which was really great and they were all professional and super friendly too!

Green Features: I was impressed that they had separate trash and recycling containers in the room and plenty of signage encouraging guest to share in their environmentally friendly practices.

Not only is it clean and comfortable, but it is also stylish and well appointed. It is located right in town, and within walking distance to restaurants and Bowdoin College campus, with its excellent art museum, which is open to the public. Beautiful.

I have to say the hotel was immaculate! I was really impressed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we stayed two days to use the old eastern railroad to Rockland, a real treat. We had live music one night which was very good, a shame we couldn't have stayed longer as we didn't get a proper look around Brunswick, what we saw was really nice.
