“Good location”

We were in town for a wedding and found this hotel to be very centrally located so that we could walk to the church and the reception. The rooms were well appointed and large. The parking was limited but ok.

Room Tip: Avoid front rooms during the week since there is construction across the street

We recently stayed at this hotel. A quick two-hour ride from Boston. Perfect location in Brunswick where you can walk to anything and the Maine State Theatre is right across the street on the Bowdoin College Campus. The room was contemporary yet cozy and clean! The bathroom was large with good amenities. Hotel has a tavern open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Reasonable costs for a hotel location. Good food and great waitstaff. Front desk staff was extremely helpful, printing out maps and giving directions. Don't want to drive? The Downeaster from Boston stops one street behind the hotel.

Green Features: Linens are changed every three days unless otherwise requested. Towels are changed if you leave them on the floor.

I loved just about everything about the Brunswick Hotel and Tavern. The staff was courteous and met every need, the room was immaculate, the hotel was gorgeously decorated and maintained, and the service was impeccable overall. Location was extremely convenient to Bowdoin College (note: they have a Bowdoin friends and family rate -- I did not know this before my stay!). Additionally, the tavern is great -- awesome service, great beers on tap, and really good food.

My only complaint about the hotel is that the parking lot is small and fills up quickly in the evenings, especially over the weekend. It is marked as "registered guests only" but it seems like the hotel bar is a popular local attraction (not surprising -- good drinks, great food, live music), and it can be very challenging to find a spot. I ended up having to park at the train station across the street a few times during my six night stay...a little frustrating, but certainly not a dealbreaker. I was also a little frustrated because there was construction going on across the street that started around 6:30-6:45 (loudly) every morning I was there, but that is not the hotel's fault.

All in all: The Brunswick is quaint, adorable, very New-Englandy, and the people are very friendly. A solid 'A' in my book! I would definitely stay here again.

“I DO, I DO!”
.
The management and staff of the Brunswick Hotel and Tavern provided us with extraordinary service and personal attention when they hosted our wedding reception on June 28, 2014. We would especially like to thank and commend Mr. Brandon Hussey, Director of Sales and Marketing, for his generous assistance throughout every stage of planning and preparation. As a mature couple with numerous family members and friends traveling from across the country to join us, we were especially grateful for the flexibility with which attractive and comfortable accommodations were made available. We would also like to express our gratitude for the professionalism of Restaurant Supervisor Ms. Kate Flynn. Ms. Flynn was in every aspect of planning of our menu and the seating of seventy-five guests in the Robinson Room, incredibly patient and helpful. During our reception, Ms. Flynn and her staff unobtrusively attended to every detail and provided a delicious meal. The Brunswick Hotel and Tavern is the ideal venue for a wedding reception. Thank you for everything!

Hi Stewart & Sherri,

Congratulations! We were so thrilled to take part in such a special occasion. We accommodate weddings year round including small weddings or larger ones up to 120 guests and yours was definitely a pleasure to host here at the Hotel. We wish you the best of luck in your new journey together and hope that you will stop in for an occasional breakfast, lunch, or dinner in the Tavern.

The caring, attentive, welcoming staff made for a wonderful stay. Whether it was late night assistance, early check-in, advice or directions, everything was met with good cheer. Spotless and modern. A cheery bar/restaurant. Live music on the patio for cocktail hour. Nice sized rooms with comfortable furnishings. And free wifi. Two levels of parking, with hotel access from either. Located across the street from Bowdoin College, across another from Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain's home, and across another from the First Parish Church (where Chamberlain was at one time choir director and where he met his future wife, Fannie). Just a block away from the grass mall and steps from the center of town with its shops and restaurants. A fabulous place to stay!

Room Tip: They are all good rooms. South view rooms have more of an open vista, as do the western ones to some...

We decided to spend the night in Brunswick as we had an early morning kayaking trip planned for the next day. We chose this hotel because it seemed central to a lot of restaurants and possible attractions. It is very close to a town park and it was enjoyable to see all the people in the park for the afternoon. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and quickly checked in. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We especially appreciated the large table as we planned an evening of scrabble playing. After exploring the town and having dinner we returned to our room for that scrabble game. Later we found the beds very comfortable and the room nicely darkened by the drapes. The bath was quite large and the amenities from Bath and Body Works exceptional. Breakfast in the tavern the following morning was very good. Our waitress was the only one on staff when we arrived yet you would never know she was alone. She took the time to answer questions and take our order without ever appearing hurried. The menu was quite varried for breakfast and the food was very good without being overpriced. If back in Brunswick in the future we will be returning to the Brunswick Hotel and Tavern.

Room Tip: Make sure to visit the tavern for breakfast. if the weather permits sit outside on the patio.

We stayed at the Brunswick Hotel for a wedding in Brunswick in late June 2014, and overall I have nothing but good things to say.

The hotel is clean, modern (though with rustic touches, like exposed beams). Beds are super comfortable, free internet, friendly staff, and easy walk to Bowdoin College and train station are all reasons to stay here.

The tavern is also a real gem and we ate there every day--great food and atmosphere. Would love to stay here again!
