I have driven by the Brunswick Diner many times on trips farther up the Maine Coast and was always attracted to its cute, authentic look. Today I stopped there. I won't make that mistake again. The chowder was appropriately thin and mildly flavorful, short on clams and long on overcooked potatoes. The burger overdone and tasteless. The onion rings are of the overly battered in a heavy, slimy batter sort, drenched in grease. I didn't have the fries but I saw them. They are the frozen krinkle-cut kind. Yuck! There is a sign outside which advertises "the best lobster roll in Maine". After having eaten some of their other fare I would venture to guess that the Brunswick cannot compete with the lobster roll at The Maine Diner, Red's or Moody's. Don't believe the sign.
