“Wonderful venue for a wedding reception”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

Housed in a converted textile mill along the Androscoggin River in Brunswick, the cafe has wonderful views of the dam and waterfall that match its great food and beer selection. For the purposes of a wedding reception, the space is great because it is open with lots of flexible space for tables, dancing, standing chatting, etc. The food was top quality and not at all run-of-the-mill. This can give any big city trendy restaurant a run for the money.

“Quirky, restaurant, bar, art museum, theater”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

And surprisingly great at each. Menu choices are unique and ingredients are local and fresh. Very good selection of local beers and well stocked bar. The view looking over the dam and the Androscoggin is great. All or our meals here have been excellent.

My wife and I had the shaved steak sandwich tonight-scrumptious!

Located in a former Textile Mill along the Androscoggin River. Look out the window to see the dam & water crashing over the rocks. Spectacular.
Interior is very unique - wonderful.
Grilled Caesar - delicious
Small plates to order - we had Middle Eastern w/ pita, feta, dolmades. hummus. Very good
Sweet Potato Fries w/ Rosemary Aoili ..yummy.
Very unique cocktail menu
Make a visit here...you will love it.

“Rustic Charm on the River”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

A casual stroll from the main entrance of the old mill to the door of the restaurant. Bold wooden tables, benches and seats (bring a pad for softer seating). Menu has enough variety to meet most dietary needs. Foods portions on the larger side with a balance of flavors. Most ingredients are locally sourced and fresh. The staff is friendly, smiling, personable while taking orders and serving in a timely fashion. There is a seating area with soft sofas and chairs where one can relax over a cocktail, beer, tea or coffee. A person can be comfortable with a book or having a quiet conversation without feeling rushed. The in house intimate movie theater shows independent films as scheduled. One must not forget to mention the river views from the windows with lively seagulls sunning on the rocks. The Frontier Cafe is a unique experience you will want to share with friends or house quests.
