We selected this Inn after researching TripAdvisor and it was a good choice. We arrived late about 8pm and we were greeted with a friendly reception. Our room was a Queen with a claw foot tub. Room 308. Comfortable, very clean and sweet. Heads up though...... The claw tub is quaint but not easy to get in and out of as it doubled as a shower. Older travelers would not enjoy this feature. We ate a delicious dinner at the inn's restaurant. Our server was sweet and helpful. We had the caprese salad and seafood scampi. The scampi was a bit heavy but it was also late for us to eat. It was delicious.
Only one issue arose. We told the receptionist we were heading to eat at their restaurant. She handed us our room keys and an envelope telling us this was something from the management. We dropped our bags in our room, left the envelope there and proceeded to eat. Upon our return to our room, we opened the note to find a $10 certificate to use at the restaurant. When went back to receptionist, she reported that we should have used the certificate WITH dinner! She never said a word about the contents of the envelope when we told her we were eating at HER restaurant. We did get the $10 off our bill finally but confused on why it was handled this way at all. Besides this one inconvienence, I would highly recommend this inn if in the area. Just open the envelope before eating there!

Though the inn itself was beautiful and the room clean, the fire alarm in our room went off inexplicably and repeatedly at 3:25 in the morning. We had to call the front desk twice before being told to take the batteries out of the alarm to make it stop, and the next morning I was told they would be unable to adjust the fee paid for the room because I "paid online". Not devastating, but a pretty frustrating stay.

We were very happy with the Captain Daniel Stone Inn in Brunswick Maine. It was fabulous - our room was comfortable and very reasonably priced. The breakfast is included and is buffet style in the No. 10 Water Restaurant which you must try for dinner. There's a small fitness center

It's within walking distance of the main street of Brunswick - about five minutes. Brunswick is a quaint town and you need to walk the streets to truly enjoy the ambiance.

The service was excellent as was it's location, value, and cleanliness.

If you visit the Inn online, the photos don't do it justice.

This is the nicest Choice Hotel properties at which we have ever stayed. A must stay!

Room Tip: If you want a little more room, pick one of the King sized bed rooms

Tall ceilings, spacious rooms, incredibly comfortable bed, friendly staff, lovely landscaping, great restaurant and bar on site (we ate there the night we stayed). The breakfast had a nice variety of offerings. The halls between rooms are wide and well lit. The architecture and decor are beautiful and welcoming. The staff was not only friendly but attentive-good service in the restaurant as well as good food. The fitness room had more machines than most properties this size and was good sized. The hot tub was nice to have as well. So much nicer than a standard chain hotel and close to, if not, the same price range. To think we almost stayed in Portland instead...so glad we sought this out. Enjoy!

The Captain Daniel Stone Inn is clean and welcoming. The decor is pretty, the rooms are amply size and nicely appointed, and the staff is lovely and helpful. Breakfast is included, provided buffet-style in the restaurant -- and the choices are good, presented well and tasty. We ate dinner in the restaurant one evening ... again, the food was good and the service timely and friendly. A huge fireplace separating the bar and the restaurant is really a nice touch ... I imagine it is especially cozy in the winter months. The inn is also very conveniently located, a block from downtown and a short drive to Bowdoin College. My husband raved about the running trail by the river. The only thing I would note is that the inn borders the highway on one side so, if available, I recommend that you request a room on the side of the hotel that borders Water Street.

Room Tip: Request a room on the side of the hotel that does not border the highway.

Thank you for such a complimentary review of the inn and staff. We appreciate you staying with us and are glad that you found the inn to be clean and welcoming. Many of our guests join your husband in raving about the running trail.

We hope to provide you with lodging again soon.

Sincerely,
Mandi
