“A must on your to-do list when in Camden, ME”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

Lots of hiking trails that can be somewhat strenuous, as the incline is pretty steep. Moreover, you can drive to the top if that if you do not desire to hike. The view of Camden harbor and the surrounding islands from Mt. Battie and its mountain-top monument is really terrific. In good weather, this would be a really nice place to have a serene picnic lunch or just to read a book. The entrance fees are very modest, especially for seniors. I'd say that a visit to Mt. Battie is a must when in Camden.

“A GREAT View”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

The park was your typical State Park you pay $9 and can go in and out for the day , it is a mile and a half up to the top of the hill and once up there the view of Camden , Rockport and Rockland is great. An outlook you cannot get anywhere else. The best part is you can spend 15 minutes or an entire day there.

“Best views of the area!”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

If you are in the area, you must visit the top of this park. You can either hike up to the top or take the car up (there is a charge per person). The views are breath taking and the hiking trails are great fun. Our 4 and 6 year olds had no trouble navigating the trails at the top (we drove up and hiked the trails around the tower). It was a great adventure for them. There is even a tower to climb. Bring lunch and your camera! If you are going to visit only one attraction in the area, I would put this at the top of the list! Wear comfortable shoes so you can navigate the paths.

“Hikes Rewarded With Views”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

The trails are well maintained, and many lead to beautiful vistas of the central coast of Maine and pretty little Camden harbor. My favorite time to walk here is in the fall, but for the prepared outdoors enthusiast, this is worth a visit any time of year.

“Amazing Views! You or on top of Maine...”
Reviewed 7 December 2013

So I don't know that I believe this hike is only 1 mile like the map says but it is steep which may make me feel that way. It's not a long hike and you soon find yourself on top of Maine with views down the coast, out to sea and over Camden. I would recommend this hike to anyone, well worth the time. It was a bit chilly and windy as I made the hike first thing in the morning in October. An afternoon hike might offer better lighting for photographs and better views out to sea.
