The Lord Camden Inn is very conveniently located in the center of town. The lobby is nice and the rooms are well appointed with refrigerators and keurig coffee makers. It did seem like the rooms were very small but the balconies were huge. We stayed in two different rooms, village view and harbor view. Harbor view was fantastic. We had a view of the town and the harbor. Village view was more of a view of the back of buildings and was somewhat disappointing. Breakfast was good. Parking is available about a block and a half from the hotel. You need a pass ( which you have to return right away) in order to get into the lot. Our only real complaint was the desk service. When we checked in the man at the desk was juggling multiple things at once. Two women were having a conversation in the adjoining office and he had to call one over to come help us. It felt like she was rushing and as soon as she handed us our key she went back to her ( non work related) conversation. Several times when we went to get the lot pass there was no one at the desk. It often took several pages to get someone to come. This was especially frustrating because the hotel we stayed in for the first part of our trip ( The Bayview in Bar Harbor) was so responsive our bar was maybe a bit higher.

We enjoyed our stay at Lord Camden Inn. The downtown location was so convenient for shopping and sight seeing. We were even able to walk to our sailboat ride on the scooner Olad. A coupon was provided for dinner at Fresh and the desk clerk made our dinner reservations for us. Breakfast was yummy, enjoyed those famous waffles both mornings. Our room was huge and so comfortable, those great beds were a plus. We woud stay here again, for sure.

We found this place perfect for our stay. We could park the bike and just walk wherever we needed to go. The receptionist was very cordial, offered to call a restaurant to make sure they wold stay open for us. (gretal?). Loved the coffee selection in room. Chai, tea, hot chocolate and coffee. Breakfast was better than most. Scones were excellent. Muffins looked good. Whole fruit, not fruit salad. We had a nice view of the harbor. Saw a beautiful sunrise around 5 am then promptly went back to sleep!

Room Tip: Always check room before paying

What a great hotel located on Main street. Our balcony overlooked a river which had ducks on it. Quite picturesque. We fell in love with this small seaside town.

This was a wonderful boutique hotel overlooking Main St. and the scenic harbor. Great staff, excellent rooms with balconies and fine mattresses.

We took advantage of the Groupon special offered in February. We called some old friends and had a wonderful weekend. What a blast! By offering affordable off season rates, they managed to sell over 500 rooms. They are now currently renovating with new carpeting, drapes, and linens in all of their rooms.

The Lord Camden Inn’s staff was exceptional. Everyone was extremely courteous and genuinely concerned that you have a great stay. The attention to detail was a welcome change from your run of the mill hotel. They offer a small breakfast buffet with a waffle maker station, fresh assorted fruits, cereals, yogurts, and homemade granola. They even have fresh treats (peanut butter whoopee pies), or cookies placed out for afternoon snacks. They have wonderful beds, Keurig coffee machines in individual rooms and small portable refrigerators.

Downtown Camden is so small there is limited parking. When you pull up front from the Main St. there is a small side street where you can drop off your bags then walk up a few streets to park your car. It is a small inconvenience but not a deal breaker. Take a short ride to Camden Hills State Park (2 miles down the road) to drive up Mt Battie to see gorgeous views of thePenobscot Bay.

janetvb01,

Thank you for your recent review of our Inn! I am happy to learn that you were able to take advantage of the great Groupon we offered this spring. Our current renovations are sure to give our Inn a fresh update while further enhancing overall comfort our Inn has become known for. Thank you for your compliments regarding our attention to detail as we make great efforts to provide excellence in everything we offer to include the breakfast and amenities you mentioned above. Although parking is a block away, we are happy to offer this completely gated and lighted service free of charge while our guest enjoy Camden’s offerings all within footsteps of our Inn. Atop Mt. Battie is a fantastic way to experience Camden and soak in the great and multiple views our little area of Maine has to offer!

Thank you once again for your kind words. I look forward to welcoming you back to our lovely Inn as you discover more of the Midcoast area of Maine.

Sincerely,

I thought the overall expereince was very average and nothing to write home about. Overall though, the Inn was well kep and the staff friendly. I went on a Groupon but would probably not pay full price. The view however was nice, but if you did not have a balcony room (we did) there was not much to look at.

Room Tip: Harbor view with a balcony!!!
