“Nice location and decor”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

This was an overnight stop on our way to Bar Harbor. I really expected it to front on the harbor, but it's a block back, facing the little shop-lined main street. Our 2-queen-bedded room was prettily decorated and the balcony was nice, as was the bathroom. All clean and shiny. However, nowhere to put the luggage rack except between bed & wall. The bedding was extremely heavy - I pitied the maids - and very heavy on my feet, but the pillows were perfect - 3 of different softnesses, so one was Just Right. The breakfast was in a windowless room but had lots of good choices.

We are two very active older ladies, but getting our suitcases (each had only one) up the back steps from where the cars unload was pretty strenuous in the heat, and no one to help. On our checkout, one nice staff member came to help us down with them.

Cookies? I see that some reviewers mentioned chocolate chip cookies! We didn't know about them! I wish someone had mentioned them.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with balcony.

InnsManager, General Manager at Lord Camden Inn, responded to this review, 11 July 2014
Dear Nibiru888,

Thank you for your recent stay with us at Lord Camden Inn and your review as you made your way north to Bar Harbor! Our premier location with harbor views is a sure winner to all travelers looking to experience the full effect of Camden. Thank you for commenting on our décor, cleanliness, and our pillows. We understand every traveler is different so offering an array of bedding we feel serves the best overall experience and are happy you were able to find comfort without the comforter. Luggage service is offered by all Guest Service Representatives and although I am happy we were able to assist at departure I do apologize for missing the mark upon your arrival. Each day our coffee bar is accompanied by a delicious daily treat to include freshly baked cookies, fudge, brownies, and tarts. This complimentary service starts at 2pm, is self served, and runs until empty. We are sorry you missed this landmark during your stay as each day the amount of treats are determined by the hotel occupancy as to capture the guest count.

Although we’re not located directly on the water our sister property Grand Harbor Inn is and we would be happy to assist you with any future reservations when you return to Camden! Thank you again for staying with us!

Sincerely,
Erick Anderson
General Manager

We had a great stay at the Lord Camden Inn. The staff was gracious, the accommodations were wonderful, the fitness room is great and the breakfast was delicious. Only complaint was that we couldn't stay longer!

We found the Lord Camden Inn on line while searching for a pet friendly hotel in the Camden area. We splurged and booked a room with a harbor view for two nights For the most part we were well satisfied with the Lord Camden - the room was very cheerful with a great view of Camden Harbor. We had our own small balcony, refrigerator, and a very nice coffee maker. The staff was very pleasant and helpful and the location on the main street of Camden was very convenient for shopping and dining. The breakfast that was included was very good.

Please keep in mind that the Lord Camden Inn is a historic building that has been modified from its original function (can't remember what that was) into a boutique hotel. Perhaps as a consequence of this modification, the walls between the rooms are very thin (if not thin, then not very soundproof). During both of our nights at the Lord Camden, we were awakened by extremely loud snoring in the adjacent room. We didn't peek into the next room but imagined that the headboard of our bed was several inches from the headboard of the bed in the adjacent room. In any event - we have never experienced snoring like this any place else.

Beyond the snoring (which may not be an issue for other people), be aware that the parking lot for the Lord Camden is several blocks away from the hotel. This was not an issue for us but it may be for others.

Wonderful time staying at the Lord Camden Inn. We stayed off season and it was not crowded at all. Had nice pleasant staff and helpful suggestions. Parking lot for guests was helpful and conveniently down the road. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Poor sleep rating only due to the uber soft pillow top mattress which was in my opinion too soft. O...

Staff was exceptional, room was clean and comfortable with all the amenities of home. Thier breakfast buffet was delicious. Beautiful views from the balcony and just a short walk to all the many shops downtown Camden has to offer. Would highly recommend for a great getaway.

We stayed at Lord Camden Inn to attend a wedding in town. We had a room with a beautiful view. We did experience noise from the room next door(thin walls?) but turned on the ac/fan to drown out the people talking. The best part (besides the view)was the extremely comfortable bed!!! Not too often you get a good nights sleep in a hotel. We did not take advantage of the breakfast that was included but the Keurig machine in our room was convenient. Staff was very friendly and hotel was very clean. Would stay there again for sure!

Room Tip: A room with a view of the harbor is worth the extra price!

This is about what we expected. Nothing very exceptional about it. Did like the free cookies and the front and back entrance through the lobby, with access to parking. Great location, so you can walk to all the town has to offer. We traveled with friends. They had a room on the side of the hotel with a harbor view. We had a large suite style room. The living area had a fridge, and seating for four. This opened out to a rooftop deck. The bedroom was by the door, as soon as you came in. Kind of a strange set up. WHAT was atrocious...was that our headboard was up against a brick wall, BUT, there was a connecting door to the next door room. That door did not block sounds. WE had an infant crib right next to the door, with a lullaby toy going on ad nauseum all night. Just at the right decibel to be annoying. BAA BAA BLACK SHEEP, ABC's or TWINKLE, TWINKLE, LITTLE STAR...will live on in infamy forever. WHENEVER the name CAMDEN, ME is mentioned, we now roll our eyes. TELL PEOPLE YOU HAVE A CONNECTING DOOR, for heaven's sake.

Room Tip: ANNOYING noise level, rather than loud. See make my review.
