Timbercliffe Cottage Bed & Breakfast Inn

My husband and I spent a charming weekend in Camden, Maine and had the great fortune to stay at the Timbercliffe Cottage. The moment we walked into the foyer it seemed as if we were transported to another era. The inn was completely restored to its original colonial essence. Dave and Karen have taken great pride, time and research to bring this cottage back to life. Karen and David were warm, inviting and eager to make our stay enjoyable and relaxing.....they did just that. The service was exceptional, the bedrooms where cozy and extremely comfortable. We were glad that the mattress was not of the colonial period ;) We always felt at home during our entire stay and have decide to take our children next year. Don't miss out on this gem.

We found the Timbercliffe Cottage B&B a perfect place to stay, if you are looking for good old New England charm. Our room was not only clean, but also decorated with an exquisite eye for detail. Someone definately did their research - the color schemes, the fabrics, the furniture, the wall hangings all reflecting Early American decor. Karen and Dave made us feel right at home. I happen to step out for the afternoon and when I returned, I found my husband sitting in front of a cozy fire reading a book. The view from my room was amazing. Talk to Dave, if you run out of things to do, as he knows everything there is to know about the area. Karen prepares a delightful breakfast, where it is served in a lovely dinning room. My husband and I are already talking about taking a little weekend get away in the spring. Thank you Karen and Dave for making our visit so enjoyable.

We received a warm welcome by Innkeepers who could have written" the book" on the subject.
The home is early American- period decorated and neat as a pin. Rooms of all sizes accommodate the needs of
individual guests. Breakfast was, in a word, "wonderful".
Timbercliffe Cottage is located in close proximity to the downtown
Camden area and yet far enough from the road for a feeling of seclusion. We really enjoyed our short stay and plan to return
with family members to experience Maine in all seasons. I was not impressed with the mention of a "view" of the bay until
I saw it from the front porch and then even better, from out of the second floor windows..it was so beautiful, with the Autumn
sky at dawn. My family and I highly recommend Timbercliffe for the quintessential B'nB experience.

Room Tip: Read the descriptions on their web-site, they are accurate . If you need a large room, choose The C...

We stayed at this B&B a couple of weeks ago. We truly enjoyed. We have been warmly welcomed by Dave, shown our cosy room and introduced to the area. Dave also gave us some good suggestions of things to do. We had the Captain Pendleton Chamber. It is warm, small and cosy and has a nice view on the bay. The cottage is very quiet and we did not hear cars from the main road. Breakfast is served at a large common table where you can chat with other guest. The cinnamon pancakes prepared with love by Karen were to die for. There are also a 2 rooms, a small library and a living room where you can stay and read. If the weather is nice you can also stay on the porch. The only downside is that is not in the centre. You need to be prepared to walk a bit up and down a gentle hill. Alternatively take the car. We did prefer in this way that staying more central. We strongly recommend and I am sure you will enjoy it.

Thank you for your nice review. As you mentioned we are not in the center of Camden thus we do not have a problem with noise from traffic etc. We are approximately 3/4 mile from the center of town (walking distance) which is stated on our website. As a suggestion to all travelers, please read the details about any B&B before reserving a room so you will not be disappointed. Many of our guests enjoy our inn because of it's location, pretty view and attention to detail as stated in other reviews.

Best regards,

Dave and Karen Kallstrand

We have stayed at a lot of B&B's over the last few years and this was by far the best experience yet. Dave and Karen could give lessons to other innkeepers on how to achieve just the right balance of family atmosphere and personal privacy. From the warm greeting at the front door to the delicious homemade breakfast and warm oven baked cookies every afternoon, every aspect is addressed with first class attention to detail. What better way to finish a busy day than relaxing by the fire with hot cup of coffee or tea? The rooms are tastefully decorated with every convenience provided. We definitely will be back again and again.

Camden is a lovely town in a beautiful part of our country. We stayed in the 1620 Chamber at Timbercliffe the second week in October. What an amazing place and what wonderful hosts Karen and David were. Everthing about Timbercliffe exceeded our expectations (and we've stayed at a lot of B&Bs around the world). It is as beautiful and roomy as represented on its website, clean, good location, delicious breakfasts, great service. Need I say more...

We recently spent a night at Timbercliffe, and wish we could have made it longer - that's the trouble with having to book things ahead of time - if you like a place you have to move on, even though you'd like to linger! The Inn itself is beautifully restored, and hosts David and Karen were very welcoming indeed. My partner and I actually remarked on the lack of a TV in the room (and in the cozy living room) and how refreshing that was. Unlike another reviewer, we were more than happy to "rough it" in this regard!

I would highly recommend the Inn to Camden visitors; in fact, it was our favourite of all of the Inns we stayed at during our week in Maine.
