You will not be unhappy. This is one of the best B&Bs we have stayed at. Close to town and other attractions. You host's are second to none. The breakfast was wonderful. We stayed two nights and we will be back. Camden is one of our favorite towns in Maine. We come back every two to three years from Texas. A MUST STAY!

Room Tip: Your missing out if you stay anywhere else.

The bed was divine. The breakfast was divine. I was looking forward to a little peace and comfort but found so much more at Karen and Dave's Timbercliffe Cottage. From the bed that welcomed me that night to the delicious breakfast that greeted me in the morning, I felt like I was being spoiled. I used to think I preferred hotels to B&Bs; but had I stayed at a hotel, I would have missed meeting the nicest folks around the breakfast table. I knew, from the website, that I would enjoy the charming and historical aspects of the inn's beautiful rooms; but I was pleasantly surprised by the attention to details. Among other useful items in the bathroom, the Vanity Pack provided a much needed band aid. And the shower in the claw-foot tub was the perfect combination of old-world charm and modern-day comfort. The innkeepers are very well informed and made great suggestions for shopping and eating. I wanted to stay longer, and I can't wait to go back in warmer weather so I can enjoy the amazing porch. What a great view! ...and the perfect place to read or simply sit and think... or not think!

Room Tip: Choose a front room, if a water view is important. But all the rooms I saw looked equally charming...

Every good review of Timbercliffe is deserved. In planning our trip last July, we considered many options for lodging in mid-coast Maine, and we are thrilled we settled on Camden and selected Timbercliffe. This is a beautiful home, about half a mile down High Street from downtown Camden. (Most of the town's historic bed and breakfasts, like Timbercliffe, sit on High Street.)

We loved everything about Timbercliffe--the view from the rambling front porch of the bay, the lively conversations that we had on the porch with other guests, our room (Chauncey Keep) with its large and comfortable king-sized bed and spacious bathroom, but, most of all, the hospitality of Karen and Dave. They could not have done more to make us feel at home. We were on our honeymoon, and they set us our own table for breakfast (then quickly and easily accommodated us when we decided instead to sit with the other guests). We are vegetarian, and Karen made a special trip to a local farmers' market to get produce for two delicious and inventive breakfasts. And, when they discovered we weren't fans of champagne, they traveled into town to buy us Camden-made truffles as a gift!

You will be hard-pressed to find kinder, more thoughtful hosts--or lodging on mid-coast Maine that is better-maintained, more comfortable, and more welcoming than Timbercliffe. We look forward to getting back there soon.

As they said, lovely rooms, beautiful style throughout, lovely to sit on the porch before breakfast, and great to speak to others over a communal breakfast at the big table. The living room, the books to read, and as others say, the fireplace in the room, all lovely.

Great suggestions on where to have dinner. And boy, what a view from the camden hill state park hilltop behind. Blew us away. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your nice comments. We love inn-keeping because of all the delightful guests from all over the world that stay at Timbercliffe Cottage. There is nothing more gratifying than hearing laughter and lively conversation at the breakfast table each morning. All the best to you. Dave and Karen Kallstrand

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and we had a great experience. We stayed in the Chauncey Keep and it is quiet, beautiful, and romantic. The fireplace at night provided calming ambience as well as warmth. The king sized four poster bed was draped in red fabric with gold trim. The pillows and blankets were like clouds. There are two wing backed chairs as well as a small table to sit at in the room. We ate breakfast at the long dining table inside one day with the other guest which was fun. Felt like Thanksgiving at our house except no bickering. The other days we ate on the porch which was a little chilly but we loved the view. The option was ours. Karen and Dave were great host that we enjoyed visiting with and we liked their suggestions on food and activities. My favorite part of this inn had to be the porch. Perfect relaxation. Had my coffee there early then wine and cookies later. Thanks Karen and Dave

Room Tip: As everyone else has said, lying in bed watching the sunrise over the ocean was pretty awesome. Depe...

If you love the colonial décor that New England is known for, there is no more beautiful place to stay in Camden. Each or the 6 rooms, which we were able to view, as when we arrived others had not checked in yet, are done to perfection. From the light fixtures to the bedding, everything was perfect. Karen and Dave are wonderful hosts and Karen should write a cookbook, the breakfasts were that good. (Baked pears with crust, shirred eggs with bacon, pumpkin pancakes, waffles with fruit, all wonderful and beautifully presented. Baked cookies in the afternoon and coffee, tea all day. Also a refrig. you can put items in and glasses available for any kind of beverage you would want. The innkeepers are also very knowledgeable about the area and keep menus for you to look at. Advised us to take the Surprise windjammer cruise which we did and it was a highlight of our trip. This B&B is close enough to town that you can easily walk into, but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet, which we did every day that we were there. This was by far the best place we stayed in Maine on our 14 day trip up the coast.

Room Tip: Can't go wrong all the rooms are lovely.

Everything in the inn is perfectly done. Beautiful common rooms, BEST front porch, fantastic food, kindest and most thoughtful innkeepers around. It was so much fun sitting at the common breakfast table and meeting such nice people.
