When we go back to Camden we would very much consider staying here again. We had a wonderful experience. Our room was spacious & comfortable (http://www.swiftinn.com/coastal_hideaway.htm). Norm & Linda were amazing, they we're a wealth of information to help us enjoy our stay in the area. They were kind and even helped us find a room at another inn when they didn't have room for us for an additional night's stay. A very short walk to town so you are able to go back to change and walk back in for dinner! I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

Room Tip: Loved the coastal Hideaway room! More private and very spacious with jacuzzi tub.

This is a great B&B to stay at in Camden. The rooms are spotless with all of the amenities you could need. The morning breakfast is enough to take you to dinner with a small afternoon snack...which is also offered at the inn. Norm & Linda can provide information on activities and restaurants in the mid-coast region. They are available to help, but do not hover. I'm a returning guest and recommend this inn to anyone looking for a place to relax after a day of activities. Downtown Camden is in easy walking distance with plenty of restaurants to fit various budgets. The inn is easy to find on Route One. The traffic can be a bit noisy on Route One, so if you stay in one of the front rooms, use the 'noise' machine or A/C (as needed - both provided).

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter at night, but our hosts advised they are checking into changing the wi...

It was off season and we were the only guests a the Inn. The innkeepers were great - very friendly and a wonderful source of information about the Camden area. It was a very short walk to get into the town and restaurants. Everything at the Inn was done very nicely. The breakfast was delicious. We have stayed in several B&Bs and would recommend the Captain Swift to anyone interested in staying in Camden.

This was the most beautiful B & B that we stayed in on our two week vacation. Loved the décor throughout and felt right at home. It is an 1810 Federal home that is charming and just a short walk to the center of Camden. Overall we like smaller places to stay but would definitely return. The Innkeeper was warm and friendly and we met several very nice fellow travelers. Breakfast, served in two inviting dining rooms, were delicious. Cookies and drinks were always available. Our room was quite small (Locke ?) but had a large walk in shower. Our sitting room was outside our room, which I actually used. Dinner at "Cappy's" and at the "Admiral" were both delicious. Sailing on the "Surprise" was a fun experience although I didn't find the captain and his wife very friendly overall...just a job to them. Camden itself didn't seem overly tourist like Bar Harbor - quaint town on the bay. Stayed two nights but wish we could have visited longer. We also enjoyed seeing the Galloway Belted Cows, or "Oreo" cows as they are called by locals,

Room Tip: Pay extra for larger room than we had but we enjoyed being in the 1810 part of this B & B.

It was wonderful to return to Captain Swift this past weekend. Captain Swift offers the best of New England’s characteristic charm with a warm welcoming feel. Captain Swift offers a choice of traditional rooms that down east bed and breakfasts are known for as well as multi-level suites with comfortable bedding, modern amenities, private bathrooms and whirlpool tubs. As usual, the breakfast spread was exquisitely presented and the atmosphere was quite comfortable. The inn-keepers , Norm and Linda treat you like family recalling specific details of our previous visits and offering insightful options for our day trips along the Maine coast.

We were really fortunate when we planned our New England vacation and chose the Captain Swift Inn. The Camden location was ideal, accommodations were quite comfortable and welcoming, and the breakfasts were over the top. The innkeepers, Linda and Norm couldn't have been more hospitable and helpful. If you plan on driving up the Maine coast and hiking Acadia Park, you won't find a more perfect home base.

This was the second time I stayed at the Captain Swift and it was as nice as the first time around. In Camden for a conference the Inn is well located and a cozy retreat from the long and interesting days. Linda & Norm are warm and gracious hosts. I am still dreaming about their outstanding breakfasts!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms away from Rte 1 side for a quieter stay.
