Pleasant and friendly landlady but there are several areas that need attention:
hygiene - the room was not ensuite and there were hairs in the bath, the shower was rather weak and generally I felt the bathroom was in need of a good clean;
room - the door lock was very stiff and I had to get my husband up in the night to unlock the door to go to the lavatory;
breakfast - fried egg tasted of burn, there was no choice of bread, the tomatoes were served cold, the bacon was thin and we were expected to share the pot of coffee. I would not describe it as 'hearty';
value for money - the B&B website says £65-75 per night but we were charged £80 that we felt was a lot for a non ensuite room with no tea making facilities.
It did feel like staying in someone's home. The room did have a dressing gown and there was ample parking.

What a pity these guests made none of these comments during their stay. We do not offer
ensuite facilities, the rate for one night is slightly more than the minimum and there is always
another pot of coffee on offer and indeed more of anything at breakfast as requested!

I travelled alone for business in the area. Good parking facilities, beautiful building. Location is well placed to reach the Chilterns and walking information is available to explore the local area. Highlights include the friendly landlady who recommended eateries in the area, free wifi and hearty home-cooked breakfast. Rooms have a sink in but the room I stayed in did not have an en suite but shared facilities. Single glazing in rooms fit with the aesthetic of the period building and electric heaters were available to complement the central heating if you get too cold. Very reasonably priced, picturesque location - a comfortable stay.

A homely bed and breakfast, lovely and friendly owner, this bed and breakfast offers peace and tranquillity in a lovely setting, the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in,room spacious although not en suite,dressing gown supplied for short walk to bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, would recommend to couples looking for peace and quiet. Excellent base for walking and visiting local area.would definitely stay here again, only recommendation would be tea/coffee making facilities in room,

I have tried out many different B+B's and hotels in Reading and Henley but Penny is so warm and welcoming. She thinks of every small detail and her breakfasts are truly scrumptious! The rooms are very spacious, clean and tidy and has everything that you need. She makes it feel like a home from home. I highly recommend Slaters Farm and will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: I have only stayed in twin rooms but both are brilliant.

A real B&B a lovely old home set in beautiful gardens. The area very quiet and a short walk to the local pub. The room very clean and comfortable . Bathroom down the hall but allocated to this room. Washbasin in room. Gown provided. Breakfast set in dining room and was very nice. Penny very willing to explain local eateries etc. only 15minutes to Henley and a slightly longer drive to Reading. A great spot to stay for a few nights and travel out for sight seeing. We also drove to Bray and back also no credit cards accepted. Thank you Penny for a restful stay.
