“Wonderful B&B!”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

We stayed 2 nights in June, and enjoyed every second! It is very cozy and clean, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are so comfortable! We had breakfast both mornings and everything was wonderful. We were unable to have dinner there, but the dining room was rustic and charming. A wonderful place for a romantic getaway!

Our first trip to ME included staying in B&B's. Pilgrim's Inn was lovely with a huge room, beautiful grounds and wonderful service. However, our first morning's breakfast was vile. Other than cold small buffet, they only have one hot food option and this morning it was Eggs Benedict. Apparently, the cook has no idea how to make this dish. We were served a piece of tasteless white bread, topped with a greasy sausage patty and two hard poached eggs! I had to disassemble this mess, removing the hard poached eggs, making myself some toast with jam and eating the eggs and toast. How tough is it to open a cook book? And PS how tough is it to get Canadian style bacon...Canada is close by! The second morning they made a good french toast. So I would suggest asking before you sit down as to what is being served. Drive 20 minutes to Susie Q's in Stonington if you don't like what you hear! We opted not to eat dinner here as it was very expensive and kind of worrisome as to the cook's culinary skills.

Room Tip: Our very spacious room faced the street but had lovely views of the water. The traffic noise was sli...

Dear Gayle, we are sorry to hear you were so disappointed with your breakfast at the Inn during your stay. We do offer a traditional Eggs Benedict, but also like to offer variations to our guests, including a tomato and spinach, and occasionally a sausage variation served on sourdough toast. Both have been popular with our guests, but were are sorry it was not to your liking. We will also review the dish with the breakfast cook who was working on the days you were at the Inn to ensure the dish is being properly prepared and the eggs are not over-cooked. Thank you for the feedback, we value the opinion of everyone who stays at the Inn, as our goal is meet or exceed the expectations of our guests.

This is the third time myself or my family has stayed at the inn. I LOVE this hotel (and the restaurant). The accomodations are fantasic, romantic and lovely. WiFi is available, and believe me that is a rarity on the island. Breakfast is always phenomenal (continential buffet and one entree daily) and included in the stay. Make sure to book a dinner here as the dining room is small and fills up fast. It's my favorite place in Deer Isle and we will stay here for years to come.

I stayed at the Pilgrims Inn this weekend. It was my first visit to Deer Isle. The area is beautiful, and not busy with tourists. There are many things to see and do. Kayaking, fishing, hiking, just driving and seeing one great view after another. Many galleries and artisan shops to see.

The Inn is in a beautiful spot, across the road from a bay, and with a pond in back. Views in every direction. It is big enough so you don't feel you in someone's house, but still cozy. The innkeepers, Tina and Tony, are very gracious and pay attention to all the details that make your visit smooth. The rooms are roomy and very nice. The complimentary breakfasts are delicious and interesting. The dinners are elegant and surprisingly reasonable.

If you stay here you will not be disappointed.

Our stay at the Pilgrim's Inn exceeded our expectations! The rooms are clean, rustic and lovely, our bed was so comfortable and we slept well swallowed up in our down comforter. Upon arrival, the bartendress prepared two perfect old fashions that we enjoyed sitting at the water's edge. So relaxing after a long travel day. Dinner in the Whale's Rib was perfection... all seafood for us, but the presentation of everything on the menu was superb! Breakfast was no exception, and Nora, our engaging server, was an added plus. If you're headed Down East, the Pilgrim's Inn offers a truly memorable Maine experience.

Room Tip: Room #11 ... faced the cove...lovely view!

Pilgrim's Inn is beautifully preserved and updated, and the grounds and setting are lovely. Rooms are very comfortable and charming; breakfasts are varied and generally excellent. I was traveling alone so I didn't use the common rooms, but I would have definitely used those spaces for family or friends traveling together, and I certainly appreciated the coffee/tea, cookies and apples in the game room. The hotel is on a main street, so there is some traffic and pedestrian noise but not much. I was very active hiking all day every day, and the Inn was a relaxing home every evening.

We stayed here in June in one of the cottages. Everything was great. The breakfasts and dinner in their restaurant were also very good. It is a comfortable place with excellent staff. Although mostly, we are out, the little kitchen was well equipped and sufficient for 1 lobster dinner. We can't wait to come back again!
