Our family stayed here for few nights and had a great time! First, the rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable, and the amazing sunset/views are right from our room (I think every room at this inn has water view). Second, it is easy to enjoy the serenity and is a great way to relax and unwind. Third, this place also has heated pool, free canoes and kayaks + feee breakfast! And finally, Alan, Marj, Chef Dan and rest of the staff ensure their guests are happy with prompt and courteous service.

Also I highly suggest checking out “ocean point view” less than a mile from the inn.

My wife. Emma our puppy & II stayed at the Smugggler’s Cove Inn for three nights in early June, 2018. It was quaint, in an attractive cove and best of all the owners, Alan and Marge and our chef, Dan, were exceptionally friendly and hospitable! Dan prepared a delicious selection of breakfast fare every morning! Dan is an experienced Chef who has worked in five star resorts in the Caribbean. We’re looking forward to returning to this wonderful Inn again,

We had a wonderful 3 nights at this restful inn. These are the things that made it special: the views from the dining area and our room porch, the breakfasts, the canoe/kayaking in the inlet right off the shore, the cleanliness, the special attention by Marge, Alan, and chef Dan, and such a feeling of peace and relaxation that it all added up to make our visit a memorable time. It was a world away from franchise chains and busy interstates/turnpikes in the feel, yet it was not far off the regular route of Boothbay Harbor and other things to do nearby. No, it is not a new place, but one can appreciate the history and work that has gone into making this, along with the weather that this place has endured when not a beautiful day in June like we experienced. The new owners are constantly making upgrades, and their hard work shows.
Do go to the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden while you are there. That was another 5 star experience, especially if you take the boat ride.
Thank you for sharing your world with us, as this was our first trip to Maine. Wonderful all around!

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The room is a little dated but the view made up for it. I never saw any bugs in our room which is amazing to be so close to the water. Everything was clean and daily attended to. The breakfast was always yummy and we had one of our best meals right at the motel prepared by Dan at the 1820 House. We loved the use of canoes in the evening.

I spent two nights at smugglers cove in during my New England trip. The inn is very clean and comfortable, way above similar inns in the region. Rooms are big, bed extremely comfortable and the view on the ocean is great.
Breakfast is various and fresh and the family managing the inn is extremely warm and welcoming!
I arrived very late at night and they did all the best to recommend and call several restaurants in town.
And Boothbay is a small jewel, even if I visited at the end of the season I really enjoyed! Surely recommended.
