“Great getaway”
Reviewed 26 June 2010

I was just a little bit leery when we reserved cabin number seven, after reading earlier reviews. But much to our delight, we all slept just fine on the new mattresses . I found the cabins to be rustic and a lot of fun. We enjoyed our stay

i've been going to Harris Point for 10+ years. It is part of our family summer.Great price, beautiful, veiws and all the things you need for basic family vacation. Also, the owners are pleasant and if rustic is what you like, this is the place to go.

I you are looking for luxury accomodations this is not the place for you, but if you want a beutiful view in a rustic cabin, you can't beat the price. Where else can you get a two bedroom cabin on the water for a family of four to stay in for like $60 a night, and with a stove, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker you can really make yourself at home!

The one review said try the cabins, the veiw is awsome. They were correct. it is a beautifull spot and the owner is very nice.
But It is not very nice to charge 65 dollars for the log cabin that has beds that should have been replaced a loooooong time ago. We were booked for two nights and left after the longest night of our life. The beds were not just bad they were without excuse. Little kids would be ok in them but two adults....NO. Lay in the bad and you both roll to the middle. Cabin No. 7 stay away.. The motel may be very nice ,we did not want to take the chance. and the owner offered us a new room in it. We politely said No thanks. It was our 30th annaversary.....I now have to live this down for the next 30 years. Found out that the ferry that runs to Deer Island and then to Campobello was not running yet. so we stayed on campobello the next night at the LUPINE LODGE and loved it it was just awesome. Food was great people were very friendly.

The cabins and motel are on Harris Point which sticks out into the Atlantic Ocean. They have a beautiful view of the Canadian islands across the bay. We stayed in the motel part. The room had two double beds, a TV, fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. There was even a rocking chair! The rooms do not have phones. This is an older motel but the room was clean, of reasonable size and very pleasant. The room could have used a few more electrical outlets. Soap is provided, but no shampoo. The bathroom had several extra towels, which I appreciated. Especially after having stayed at a very expensive fancy hotel a few nights before that only provided two towels in the room! On the other hand the towels were a bit small/thin.

The view from the motel rooms is somewhat blocked by the owner's house (by the way, the owner is very sweet!) and the cabins. I was wishing that we had booked one of the cabins, which are all right on the shore (gorgeous views). Mind you, this is Northern Maine, and the shore is rocky or muddy, and there is lots of seaweed. This is not the place for sunbathing on the sand or swimming (Brrrrrr!!!).

This place is good value for money, in the $40-$65 range.

One drawback of staying in this beautiful spot is that it is not easy walking distance to downtown Eastport.
