We visitied this cafe several times on our last trip. Great food, nice atmosphere. It's our go-to place for lunch in Ellsworth. We'll be back.

“The first place we go..”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 November 2012

We visit the Ellsworth area at least 3 times a year and the first place we always go when we get to town, (and usually a few more times throughout our stay) is the Riverside Cafe. It's like coming home. The food is always fabulous and the servers are attentive and friendly. Be sure to try the blueberry/raspberry pancakes, the breakfast burrito and any version of the eggs Benedict. The Sunday brunch specials are always unique and tasty. Not to mention the great champagne cocktails and bloody Mary's . It's a great way to start and active day down east. The place is always bustling with people and laughter and no doubt it's best attribute is the wonderful people who work there. Home never felt so warm:)

“Great food and live jazz too.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 November 2012

We ate dinner at the Riverside Cafe on Friday, a day when the Riverside is open for dinner. The fish chowder was excellent, milky, buttery, with big chunks of haddock and diced potatoes. Glazed scallops were perfectly cooked, served with crunchy green and yellow string beans and baked potato. The crusted ahi tuna was very lightly charred on the outside, meltingly raw in the inside, served with a dollop of wasabi, yellow and green string beans and wild rice. The portion was generous, the taste and presentation were perfect. In addition to the wide choice of items on the menu, there were daily specials chalked up on a blackboard, and the panco crusted haddock was so tempting, but the Ahi tuna won out.
