This restaurant is patronized by locals. The fare is straightforward and reasonably priced. Good Chowders and sandwiches. They bring a warm loaf of yeasty bread with each meal and plenty of butter. Very friendly staff

We were told this is a popular local spot. We got there a little after 1:00 and there were very few diners. Our waitress was clearly new and inefficient - unsupervised. We sat 25 minutes not offered something to drink let alone order taken. All the while, her visits to the section involved her asking those already eating how they were doing then disappearing around the corner. Finally she brought our meals to another table and when they said they weren't what was ordered she asked them, "Well what did you guys order?" Then she took our meals back to the kitchen with out turning to us so we could intervene. We were at the table for one hour in order for each to have a sandwich and cold drink. The sandwiches were unremarkable other than mine being somewhat burned on the bottom. I'm certain there was no sauce on my rueben.

I had steak and my hubby had the scallops. Both were done exactly as ordered and were delicious. A wide variety of home made pies that are yummy including Maine blueberry. Relaxed atmosphere.

The lobster tasted fishy! The lasagna had only a tablespoon of sauce and the blueberry pie had no flavor.
The person that ate the lobster was sick the next day.
There are too many great places in this area to eat. Do not waste your money.

Stopped in for lunch, based on experiences at Helen's in Machias. It was a big disappointment, nothing like Machias. The décor was like it was from the 70's, and felt old and tired. The service was not good, and the food worse. We had haddock sandwiches. The fish was not nice and fresh, and the batter greasy. I hate to say a place is terrible, but we won't be going back, ever.
