this bird sanctuary and homestead is a very interesting place for bird lovers. due to it being run mainly by local volunteers with limited funding, the trails and out buildings are in need of repair and rebuilding. it is worth it if you visit the homestead house and the museum. the story of the home and founders is truly fascinating and a must see. if the home is not open, ask a volunteer for a tour. the owls, hawks and other birds on display due to injuries are fascinating as well. if you love birds, it is worth the visit.
