“Great as usual”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2013 via mobile

We stayed at the Harraseeket Inn this weekend as we have done on so many occasions over the last several years. Once again we found it relaxing, inviting, and having a great location to the town. We had noticed that the Inn was beginning to look a little "old" our last few visits, but am happy to say that we noticed a great deal of upgrading going on in the rooms and Maine Dining Room. This is a place to go to if in the Freeport area, you won't be disappointed.

Thank you for your loyalty over the years! We try hard to keep the inn looking fresh and beautiful for our guests.. We're still working on our dining room (now known as the Maine Harvest, the official Maine restaurant of Maine Organic Farmers and Growers) but it's almost complete, and our guest rooms and public areas are always a work in progress. Just when we think we're finished it's time to start all over again! We look forward to your next visit.
Enjoy your summer!

Recently stayed at the Harraseeket in early June with 4 other couples. Room was most comfortable and large and our Breakfasts and Dinner there was the best we had on our small tour. A pleasure to stay there.

Thank you! We are so fortunate to have so many Maine farmers, growers and fishermen supplying us with wonderfully fresh menu ingredients. Our chefs and farmers work in close collaboration. Your comments will be very gratifying to them!

If staying in Freeport be sure to make this place a priority. Everyone was more than helpful, welcoming and genuinely nice. The room was large with two queen beds as well as a sitting area. The linens are to die for. So soft and cozy. Wish I knew where to get a set! The included buffet breakfast offered a large choice and was great - tasty and hot. The grounds are beautiful. Location is terrific. Only a five minute walk to the shopping- great where you buy and buy and can return to the room to drop things off and start again.

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay! Our sheet sets are for sale in the inn's gift shop. They are so popular they're hard to keep in stock, but we will mail them if you wish! Thank you for taking the time to post your review and enjoy your summer!

I've always wanted to stay at the HArraseeket and finally did on Fathers Day weekend 2013. It was everything I expected. The Front Desk staff from check in to check out were all very friendly and polite. Ryan in the Tavern was a friendly young man who really seemed to enjoy his job. The food in the Maine Dining Room was great. Alicia our waitress was wonderful. relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious. Our room was clean and comfortable. Turn down service a pleasant surprise. Didn't go to the Sunday brunch. It's suppose to be the best in Maine. All I did was eat thais weekend son I'm going to save the brunch for a Sunday train ride in the fall to Freeport and the Harraseeket Inn.
Definitely will stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel for a 4-day weekend conference. The meeting facilities were excellent and the hotel has a great atmosphere overall. We found the rooms to be clean and comfortable. The front desk and hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast buffet every morning was excellent and it runs from 7-10:30 so it can accommodate pretty much anyone's schedule. The afternoon tea was enjoyable as well but we were hoping for a tea area with tables and chairs so that we could visit with others easily. Instead it's in a sort of drawing room with sofas, individual chairs, end tables, etc. However, the tea was excellent and we greatly enjoyed the variety of cheeses, fruits, cookies, etc.

Thank you for your review and your comments about our afternoon tea. We offer seating in the Maine Dining Room as well the Drawing Room during afternoon tea but I don't think this is being relayed verbally by our staff. We will address the issue and we thank you again for bringing this to our attention!

I recently attended a conference at this hotel and it was an excellent choice of venue. The front desk and restaurant staff were friendly and very hospitable (typical of Mainers!). My room was in the Carriage House next door and it was comfortable, with a nice jacuzzi tub. While I didn't see an air conditioner, I would hope it would be available as upstairs rooms can get hot. The weather was cool and rainy for the duration of my stay so it wasn't an issue. The meals were served buffet style and food was plentiful. The best meals were breakfast and the lobster dinner! The conference breakout rooms were well appointed and there was minimal noise from adjoining rooms. It was great to be able to park my car in the back and just walk up and down Main Street in Freeport. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to conference organizers as well as vacationers.

Thank you for your review! We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us during your conference. The rooms in the Carriage House are all air conditioned. The air conditioning units are located in the ceiling so you wouldn't see them, but they come in mighty handy during July and August! Have a great summer and we hope to see you again.

We really like this hotel. We stayed as a couple in 2009 and it was the one hotel we wanted to re-visit when we visited the area again in 2013. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Reception were polite and helpful and the food is fantastic. The location is good. However, our stay was a little spoiled by housekeeping staff. Who for some reason thought it acceptable to stand outside our room at 7.30am on a Sunday morning and shout their conversation. It wasn't even a conversation about housekeeping, it was about their social lives. And some of the language was, erm...colouful! When we gave up trying to sleep and went down for breakfast they were giggling and shouting to each other to be quiet because we were there! Absolutely no respect for guest at all and for the first time ever we didn't leave a tip in our room.

Please accept our profound apologies for the disturbance you experienced during your stay. This is the first time ever we've heard such a complaint about our housekeeping staff and we will do everything possible to find out who was responsible and make sure this never happens again. Most of our staff has been with us for many years but we do have new hires this time of year as the busy season approaches. Apparently we need to do more training! Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention, and we hope you give us another try in the future.
